Food was good but expensive for what it was. No drink rule is a bummer, but it was a night with a difference.

I really must like The Clink as I counted up that this was my seventh visit. I'm not sure what I can say that I've not said previously and would hope that the number of visits I have made is recommendation enough! I had the...More

Yes! Food was beautiful - far better than in many of your traditional restaurants. Food was beautifully presented and a good range on the menu but not so great that it compromised the quality. I ordered the plaice and although I love fish, always worry...More

If you try to book a table for Christmas Day using their online booking system, the 25th and a lot of other days around then are greyed out, suggesting they are either closed or fully booked.

The Clink Restaurant at HMP Styal opened to the general public in April 2015 and offers women prisoners full-time work within a true-to-life restaurant and kitchen environment. Alongside their employment the prisoners also train towards gaining nationally recognised City & Guilds NVQs in food preparation and food service before returning to their prison accommodation at the end of the working day. Upon their release, The Clink Charity helps the graduates find employment within the hospitality industry. The restaurant is an example of a unique charitable project that is committed to reducing reoffending rates in partnership with HMPS. The restaurant positively promotes the rehabilitation and reintegration of prisoners and also champions the wealth of quality, fresh and organic produce available locally. Seasonal food is prepared and cooked in an open plan kitchen offering diners the opportunity to watch their food being prepared. Afternoon tea is now being served Monday to Friday, 1:30pm to 3:00pm and must be booked at least 24 hours in advance. As of 1st January 2017 the restaurant will open every Sunday, 12:00pm to 3:00pm, serving roast lunches with 2 courses for £19.95 and 3 courses for £25.90. The restaurant also holds a Gourmet dinner every Wednesday from 6:30pm offering a 4-course menu for £39.95. This must be booked at least 24 hours in advance. Available for exclusive hire, The Clink Restaurant boasts 2 private dining areas with projector and AV facilities that can be used for meetings, presentations and private events.
