Decided to eat after reading all the great reviews about the great food and low key dining experience. Fine dining without a dress code also gets a big thumbs up from me as I typically only wear shorts in the summer. The food was excellent...More

Thank you for your response, less vague with comments I can remark on. We are located on a lovely Harbour and we actually offer four seafood options which is approximately 30% of our menu. We do not advertise ourselves as a seafood restaurant and we are very happy with our content of fish. We purchase our seafood fresh daily from our local fish market. Sometimes all our guests want the Market Fish, other times not. In an effort to ensure freshness we purchase what we think we will need for service and occasionally we may run out, a sign of a popular dish. It happens. We do, however, have a backup that we can offer if this happens. Our 20 Clove Valley Hill Pork is not necessarily heritage pork and we don’t list it as heritage pork. The roulade style of preparation with demi is actually very tender and is quite popular. In an attempt to speak for our server I can only assume she was responding to your questions and perhaps trying to guide you in a selection. I am very confident that she did not say that it was bad. We offer a complimentary amuse. In the case of our smoked salmon with cream cheese on puff pastry it would have been assembled directly before service. Our seafood chowder is very popular and guests often comment on the quality and the generous amount of seafood it has. We actually don’t add the raw seafood until just before we serve it so that it is cooked fresh for each guest. I do apologize if your steak was overdone. An error we could have corrected that night had we known. The bread pudding is sliced and grilled prior to each serving with the beef and demi placed on top of it. The juices do flow into the bread pudding. We also make our gnocchi fresh and it is never frozen. Our Norris Point Salad is beautifully plated, another comment we hear often, with a house made vinaigrette. We are very proud to say that all our breads, dishes, dressings, sauces are made in house and we source locally whenever possible. I’m so sorry that you had such a terrible experience, it’s really unfortunate that we seemed to have done nothing right that night, but more unfortunate for us that we knew nothing about it until your review. I don’t make excuses, sometimes things do go wrong and as I mentioned previously constructive criticism is good as it does help us improve and grow. Ideally we would also have been given a chance to fix it at the time. I respect your opinion and I stand by mine. I’m proud of our kitchen staff, our Chef and our offering. Thank you.
