Had the special, and was fine, not my favorite place for brunch and service was a little slow. Was good food, but was not excited to go back right away.

I was there on prime rib night, and I had an excellent piece of prime rib. It was tender and flavorable and veggies were also very good. The service was great and very friendly. I will go back the next time I'm in Orange, VA.
A nice small town pub with good wine, acceptable food and friendly staff. Pleasant acoustic live music.
I ordered the special of the day, roast pork Wellington. Usually a "Wellington" dish is done with beef, but the pork variation was excellent, very juicy and tender. The Light Well is planning to become a brew-pub, but they had not yet started brewing beer by they time of our visit.
We frequently stop here in Orange for lunch or dinner. From the first visit we were impressed by the fresh, locally sourced food and friendly service. Last night my wife remarked that she had never had such tasty and perfectly prepared chicken. We'll be back.
Stopped for for Bunch and the place was excellent. Good menu choices and specials where amazing. Nice Irish coffee too. Family run and also family friendly. Great value. Visit Objects across the street when you are finished. Cool place
It would have been a #5, except for the rude introduction. I was eating solo and asked for a table in the back corner. I was abruptly told that it was a table for 6 and I couldn't sit there. Would have understood except the place had very few people in it at the time. Somebody needs to learn manners... More
The Light Well is a good choice for lunch after a visit to Montpelier. Interesting sandwich and salad options that are accompanied by tasty sides. Welcoming and enthusiastic staff. A feel of "Old Orange" in a dining room that has preserved much of the original feel to the restaurant.
