Traveling home from Washington DC, we decided to take an extra day and stop in Roanoke, Va, and have dinner at a place we had been twice before.
Local Roots is a charming, bistro-like, farm to table restaurant. Sunday’s have a limited menu, so this...More
This restaurant was recommended for Sunday dinner by another restaurant that is closed at that time- that's pretty cool! Since this was a special get-together for a birthday dinner, we really hoped it would be good. Trust me, "good" got left in the dust -...More
From booking our reservation to coffee and dessert our entire experience was fantastic! The scallops were the best we’ve ever had and Nate, our server was the perfect blend of knowledge combined with genuine appreciation for the dining experience. Thanks, Local Roots for supporting our...More

The bar menu is a little less expensive - but the hamburger is one of the best in Roanoke. The regular menu varies, but it's not cheap. They organize their menu by size of appetite. The medium appetite items average $7-11. The larger appetite menu items go up to $30. I'm a petite gal with a medium appetite, so I usually order from that side or two of the appetizers (which are always excellent and not FRIED), for around $20.
