Great service and food. Will definitely have lunch there regularly. The food was prepared with care and service and atmosphere are much to be appreciated. Best Cuban Sandwich outside of South Beach. The owners understand the winning formula of friendly service + good food + good quantity = a winner. A must try restaurant on Williamson. I actually drove by... More

I have eaten here twice. Both times were fantastic. The owner is welcoming and treats each person like family. I have tried the stuffed potatoes, the empanadas, the Cuban sammie and the ropa vieja. Loved it all!

Loved it. Not a large place, but it was packed when we arrived. Which is a good sign We all ate something different and no one complained. Well worth the time to get there from VT. Will go again. Spoke to the owners, great people to talk to.

We were staying in Roanoke for a night and were looking for a good place to eat. Cuban Island looked interesting so we gave it a try. And we're glad we did! My husband and daughter started with the beef empanada and loved it. I had the grilled chicken with onions, my husband had the pork version of the dish... More

What an awesome meal we had at Cuban Island! We met the owners when she took our order. They are super sweet and make conversation with all the customers! I got the chicken steak and hubby got the fried pork. Both were wonderful! Red beans and rice and plantains were yummy too! Hubby loved the Cuban coffee! He said it... More

Two of us stopped for lunch mid week and seated ourselves at the last available table; the other half dozen tables were already occupied. The friend that I was dining with is a big fan of this place and followed the owner to this location when she moved from Happys a few years ago; he raved about and ordered the... More

The restaurant was delightful in that the service and food were excellent. I would gladly come back again. It is owned by Cuban Americans, and the atmosphere was warm and very friendly.

Family own small business with authentic Cuban food and welcoming. Very relaxing and kids friendly. Large portions and very reasonably priced. Great Cuban coffee to keep you awake for hours and homemade cakes to order!

I have been longing for this style food for a long time. Found it while visiting my brothers. Stumbled in a promptly greeted by the owner. She seated us, and we felt welcomed. Great food. Love the empanades and Ropa Vieja. Get there and get some.

My wife and I heard about Cuban Island from a friend and then read some the reviews. We decided to try it the next time we were in the area. It was nothing special. My wife ordered a chicken dish which was okay and I ordered the Cuban sandwich. In the past every Cuban sandwich that I ordered had a... More
