When you go into the store you are surrounded by a lot of home made items. Woodworking, crafts, and gifts. Lots of Amish food also. The candies are great and baked goods are yummy also. But the sandwiches are the star of the show here! Home made bread with Amish cold cuts and/or cheese. And they don't skimp on the... More

Was searching for lunch on our way through south Virginia. Read the reviews on trip advisor and decided to stop. Really good sandwiches (but wish the bread was a little thicker). Had so many choices of deli meats. There must have been 10 different ham choices and any kind of cheese you could think of. You can customize your sandwich... More

The Dutch Pantry in Rural Retreat, Virginia off I-81 at Exit 60 is a place worth visiting. This place has a bakery, crafts, bulk foods, deli, lunch and the most tasty ice cream. We purchased all country products: cheese, butter, bacon and the softest bread ever. Take a break off the busy Interstate 81 to visit this hidden gem.

You read correctly....just do it. You won't be sorry. Amazing food; deli meats, homemade "to die for" breads, and salsa. Sweet staff willing to help you any way they can.

The Dutch Pantry is excellent. Stop in for lunch. You can buy lunch meat and cheeses. They have dry goods and craft goods. There prices are reasonable and the products are good quality.

Our party of two couples had a delicious lunch at The Dutch Pantry today. The sandwiches we ordered were excellent, the service was cheerful and competent, and the surroundings were warm and comfortable. We spent an extra half hour shopping for ham, jam, sweets, and homemade bread. This was our first time there, but we'll be back.

This shop has a huge selection of homemade items to take home ranging from baked goods to homemade pimento cheese. A great variety of spices and mixes and other ingredients to make dishes at home. The food ordered in was just OK, but their success is definitely in the things you can purchase and take home. Very reasonable prices on... More

We always love to visit this store! The food is delicious and you can buy anything you need there to stock your kitchen. They also have cute primitive deco. I love the ham salad and rice crackers. The sandwiches are so fresh. I also love the raspberry cream cheese roll. My son gets the homemade spearmint drops. The Amish ladies... More

We ate lunch and shopped at The Dutch Pantry, a combination deli and staples store. The chicken salad sandwich on sourdough was delicious and the Italian sandwich was loaded with meat and cheese. We purchased flour, spices, and pastries before we left. Everything was delicious and the employees were extremely friendly and helpful.
