The BBQ is lean and you get a choice of sauces. I personally like the vinegar based & husband likes the sweet. The coleslaw is homemade and is excellent. Now, for my favorite: THE RIBS!! Oh my! Smoked to perfection. All of the sides I have tried are really good. The cobbler is a real treat. Can you tell I... More

The food is really good and love the deserts too. The owners make you feel at home. You don't wait long for your meal. I'll go back and eat again because that's how good the food is.

Menu is limited to pork, chicken and pork ribs. Order from the counter, food service is a little slow from the kitchen. Pulled pork is hickory smoked with a basic rub. It was tender and very tasty with their home made sauces. Cole slaw was dry and lacked any real flavor. Baked beans were sweet with molasses sauce. Service was... More

Should have paid attention to fact no cars in parking lot. Very slow service after order placed. The food just lacks in taste. The pulled pork was dry and just cut up with hard dry ends mixed in. The sides of mac and cheese not very good. Over all experience poor. Couple who came in and ordered after us left... More

We were happy enough when TA found us this place after we visited a nearby Civil War battlefield (Malvern Hill). It's a very friendly place run by real people and not hired kids like you find at chains. And the food was just fine. We enjoyed the pulled pork and the cornish hen. Sides were good. Cornbread was a bit... More

Stopped by here on way to Richmond airport. Good BBQ but be advised, only pork and chicken are served. The pork platter was delicious and so was the baby back ribs. The meat just fell off the bone. No hot or spicy BBQ sauce, they put a bottle of Texas Pete on the table for heat. Very friendly staff and... More

This is a nice clean spot with good pulled pork. The hush puppies are small but tasty. The sweet tea is authentic southern. I enjoyed my meal. I'll go back.

For the price, you get a good amount of food. Cool decor. Seemed like a quiet spot for 6:00 on a Saturday, but no complaints. Service could not have been better - the server/woman behind the counter was possibly the nicest person in Virginia. Would go back.

Hillbilly Red's has the nicest staff, and the best atmosphere. They make it a point to engage their customers and keep them coming back for more.
