If you're looking for a delicious meal in a place with great character, Tautogs is your destination. Located in an old beach cottage not a cookie cutter setting with some of the best seafood in town. On this night, I had a crispy snapper with garlic mashers and collards topped with a bacon cream sauce…yes bacon. All in our party... More

Had dinner here on a Saturday night with three other friends. The place was packed, so we had a drink and an appetizer at the bar while we waited; appetizer was excellent. Once seated, service was prompt. Our waitress was very nice and a pleasure to work with. I had the salmon salad, and my other friends each had a... More

This restaurant continues to amaze us with wonderful dining, fantastic service, reasonable prices and so much more. A must each time we get back to VA Beach.

It's a laid back feel with great dinners. Old beach house from circa 1920s. Food is well thought out, fresh main dishes with interesting twists on traditional meals. Come in for a drink and something at the bar even if your alone. You'll feel like a native when you leave.

We had dinner here last week and it was really quite good. We began with a cup of She-crab soup and Benny's Oysters. Both of them were delicious and if you like a warm oyster appetizer you should try these. They are a little different but very nice. We were tempted to try the Flounder in a bag but the... More

I was very excited about eating some good seafood while I was visiting VA Beach for work. Tautogs did not disappoint! We had a large group, and they accommodated us well. The crab nachos were my favorite, but everything was very good. A few of us tried bites of each other's plates and I didn't have one bite that wasn't... More

Food and service was awesome! What more can I say. Plus added bonus, had a local craft brewery on tap that I love!. Great dinner.

Visited restaurant on a Saturday night around 7 PM. Very crowded very noisy. Needed to wait 35-40 minutes to get a table. Once seated the waitress was more than satisfactory. Food came quickly. The food was very good. Cost was reasonable considering our dinners were seafood. Would highly recommend

Went there with three other couples on a Saturday night. Reservations was at 5:30; they were slammed later on. Drinks, appetizers, entrees and desserts were as yummy as always. Service was quick, efficient and friendly. We have loved this place for years. We're going to go there again and again! Tautogs consistently exceeds our expectations. It gets crowded and with... Great variety of foods...very eclectic and quaint in an old house. Food was flavorful and original. Prices very reasonable. Generous portions. Place was packed off season...well worth the wait.
