The food is very good here and the atmosphere is high end. They have the best lunches in town, with lots of choices and good prices. Unfortunately, dinners can be very expensive. I recommend coming Sundays or Mondays, when they have a steak and lobster...More

Enjoyed great service and fillet mignon cooked exactly as we wanted. Garlic mashed potatoes that were delicious. $$$$

This was our first time eating here and we had a delicious 3-course dinner. My husband started with the French onion soup and he said it was very good. I had the (generous) house salad with the house basil vinaigrette dressing which was quite tasty....More

Opus 9 is our go to restaurant for all special occasions. They never disappoint. This occasion was my birthday. We were personally greeted at the hostess stand and called my name. We were seated quickly and had requested our favorite waiter, Luis. Luis always makes...More

The fixed priced dinners on Sunday and Monday are a good deal. For some reason both times we have been to this restaurant, the service starts out great and then turns poor once the meal is served. The only team work with the servers seems...More

We took our good friends of over 40 years to brunch here today. Great service! Thank you Travis - - good customer service is an art, and you do it well. We have been to several "brunch spots" in the area over the years, but...More

We had high hopes for a good dinner but to our dismay it was not to be. First, they sat us in a corner beside the emergency exit. Our appetizers came out in 10-15 minutes and the French onion was good but the seafood bisque...More

Great steaks, well-trained waitstaff good sides. We enjoyed it as we always do; this is a staple of our once-a-year trips to Williamsburg. They'll remain on our list!

The ambience is always nice here, whatever time of day. Lunches are certainly the best deal. Not only are there 10 choices for $10, but there are several more that are close to $10. My favorite is the prime rib sandwich au jus, which at...More

WHEN IT IS UNREASONABLE TO ORDER OYSTERS Working in the fine restaurant business for even a short time, one comes to know about customers like R. Jane. Even when menus remind patrons that shellfish dishes often contain bits of shell and to be careful when ordering or simply order something else because the management will not be responsible for mishaps, one in every few hundred customers will come in to eat, order an expensive wine, order the Coquilles St. Jacques or similar, wait about eight and a half minutes, then call the server and manager because it seems they've broken a tooth. There are three ways to proceed. Tell the pearl joke and try to keep a straight face. Insist that the guest produce the injurious fragment. If they claim to have eaten it, politely offer to comp the dish in question - nothing more. Serve complimentary wine or dessert if there is any sign whatsoever that the patron is telling a shred of the truth. The size of the patron's greedy expectations is proportional to the planning and practice that went into this deception. Never be intimidated by this uncommon event. Last, the server might use gentleness and humor to tell patrons who order shellfish about the restaurant's policy, before putting in the order. A pearl! Good for you. Have you adopted any practice of this kind?
