Mouthwatering steaks range from prime beef to Wagyu beef, delicious Ahi Tartare, scrumptious lobster bisque, and heavenly Caesar salad. The staff gives a warm welcome and the servers are attentive. A large wine selection lends excitement to choosing a wine to pair with the dining experience. The carpeted floor, wood paneling, large windows, well-lit room and white tablecloths give the... More

Went here for my birthday with hubby and my kids. Absolutely LOVE the service, but the food leaves a lot to desire. For appetizers we ordered the bacon (too much batter), the habenero shrimp (excellent!), and the bone marrow. I could barely eat the bone marrow - very greasy. But at least I can say I tried it. The table-side... More

Pricier than other Bellevue happy hours but such a pleasant, warm, wood paneled "Oak Bar" feel that it's worth it. Scrumptious bacon cheeseburger, superb deviled eggs, one complaint-the sauce on the tenderloin bites overpowered the meat. Spend $3 for the bread basket-well worth it!

Known for flavorful steaks, pricey but worth it. Several cuts, farm raised, and salts to choose from. Try the black Hawaiian salt. Happy hour is great here. Fried bacon, beechers mac n cheese, salads and drinks.

John Howie Steak is more than a great steak experience. After enjoying so many meals, I finally decided that it was time to share my experience with others. This place shines because of consistency and attention to detail. The steaks are as good as it gets and it never changes. This restaurant has it down to a science and they... More

Very personable and knowledgeable staff. The selection of steaks is exceptional with wagyu from Japan/ Australia/ US. Obviously, it is a high end restaurant and it comes with a price, especially if you are in for some aged, full blood wagyu steaks from Japan. But, well worth the experience!

For a high end steak house, they have an awesome happy hour. The tenderloin bites melt like butter in your mouth. The scallops off the regular menu were perfectly cooked and the chanterell mushrooms with black truffles were the perfect accompaniment. Everyone around us ordered the burger and fries. A steal at $12! Definitely will return when in Bellevue again.

LOVE going here for happy hour. It's become one of my favorite go to after a days work. Their bone marrow is superb, the burger is to die for, and my other favorite is their gravy fries w/ wagyu oxtail meat piled high with cheeses and red wine based gravy. We also tried their roasted brussel sprouts, and it has... More

We ate here while in town for some holiday shopping. Excellent service which is very important to me. When I go out I want to really experience a place and the food was excellent, we got a window seat and it was just a nice relaxing evening. Very attentive service and they even provided to-go coffees when we departed without... More

John Howie Steak - a downtown Bellevue favorite. Located in the Bravern near 405 (freeway) off of 8th Ave. A great happy hour with a near famous cheeseburger, bar and lounge open till 11pm or midnight. Fine dining in the dining room. Lunch is quite reasonable ($12-$15 entreees) and delicious. Premium steakhouse for lunch meetings, dates or of course any occasion for dinner. Private dining rooms available as well. Catering available. A fine dining restaurant with more casual options for lunch, happy hour, the bar and lounge.
