We've been here twice and are very satisfied. Owner is very friendly, service OK and our meal was very good. Not a fancy or pretentious place, very comfortable. I'd recommend to try it, overall a good value

I had lunch today with my spouse here and it reminded of being in a quaint restaurant in Japan. My spouse loved the Nigiri sushi and I had the salmon filet lunch special which included a small salad and miso soup. The food was fresh and delicious and the service was great. We will definitely be coming back again to... More

We LOVE LOVE this place. first of all, the quality of the fish is fantastic and the flavors that are put together are great! My son is at the age where he doesn't like going out with his parents, but when given the chance to go here, he'll suffer through dinner with us to have a great meal. I also... More

My kids and I decided to try out Sushi In Joy one night while we were in Bellevue. Food was good and there were a lot of menu choices. It is easy to park which is a HUGE plus in Bellevue. Would highly recommend if you are looking for no frills, good sushi place.

I wanted to love this place - good reviews, Japanese sushi chef, but I found it good not great. I ordered Uni (sea urchin, quite good), cucumber rolls (basic but good), tobiko (flying fish roe, very good), and yellow tail (like a slab of meat but lacking flavor). I have had better at my sushi place in Boise, Idaho so... More

It's very difficult to find a good japanese restaurant in Bellevue, but Sushi in Joy is one of the best. Hosted by japaneses (even the sushiman is japanese), the place is hidden behind a gas station. The restaurant is small, but has 2 traditional japanese tables and 6 regular tables. For solo ones, you can eat in front of the... More

We have been here a few times and it has never disappointed. Generous cuts of extremely fresh, delicious fish. Even basics like spicy tuna roll are exceptional! The vegetable rolls are also flavorful and fresh.

Our Host in Seattle took us one day to Sushi in Joy for lunch. As she said, it isn't much to look at from the outside, in a strip mall. But, INSIDE, it felt to me like being back in Tokyo both from the physical layout and the atmosphere. Of course, the real issue was the food and it was... More

We try to come here at least once a week. It's the freshest fish you can find and is owned and ran by some of the friendliest people I've ever met.

In spite of its name, it serves many popular Japanese dishes, not just sushi. All the food, including the sushi, is quite good. Service was prompt and attentive but not overly pushy. Located in a QFC strip mall about a.Mile north of down town. Excellent alternative to some of the high priced alternatives in center city. Decor is a little... More
