Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Just visited the Grill. While you received a lot of food (for takeout), it wasn't very tasty. I ordered the Bremerton combo. 2 of 4 meats were ok. The other 2 were sub par. Due to covid, couldn't go inside. But, from the take out...window, the restaurant didn't look very clean. Won't return.More

First, I'll tell you I'm from Hawai'i. Lived there most of my life. We will start with my second visit. My second visit since I moved here was on Saturday, April 27, 2019. My friend and I went a movie and wanted some Hawaiian grindz,...so we walked over to satisfy our craving. When we were ready to order, the girl told us that they were out of food. There was a list of food that they were out of on the counter. Looking at the list, there wasn't very much that they could serve because they were out of so many items. The girl actually told us to go somewhere else (I'm not saying where). We decided to go elsewhere. The second time I went was today, May 13, 2019 for lunch. Honestly, the food tastes okay. The chicken that I ordered tasted okay but was not crispy at all. The BBQ meat had way too much pepper on it and the sauce was mediocre. They were out of Spam so they subbed the Spam with Portuguese sausage which I didn't mind, but I would have preferred to have the Spam. I was looking forward to getting a few Spam musubis for me and my coworkers but No Spam! I am very disappointed considering how many people told me that this place was really good. I doubt that I'll be returning, I've been there three times... To add to it, the cook was not nice to the guy that was taking orders. The way that he talked to him I mean. Really shouldn't be done in front if customers.More

So, unlike most who probably eat here, I dined in. I will say the food was good, portions were actually too big and I am a big eater. My experience dining in left something to be desired, though. The employees and the interior atmosphere made...me feel like I was visiting my teenage cousin who is a stoner. The cleanliness of the bathroom and dining area left doubts about the cleanliness of the kitchen.More

My family and I stopped here to eat for lunch during our first trip to visit this town. The cook immediately recognized us as being from Guam and welcomed us like family. Mind you there were 10 if us total but they had tables in...the back. They also have a bar that people can sit at. The menu has tons of options and they are not stingy on the meat. We ordered garlic chicken, Huli huli chicken, spam, Kalua pork, beef, Mac salad and of course rice. Lots of food and left with full times and still had plenty of leftovers. Will stop by again when back in town!More

I visited their food truck last night which was parked at Hellbent Brewing. They have the best Kalua Pork this side of the islands. I am a surfer and spend a lot of time in Hawaii and am kind of picky about my Kalua Pork...and it is the best I have had on the mainland. Oh and their mac salad is legit as well. Now if they would just add chili rice to the menu my life would be complete.More

Been here several times and most of my experiences have been on the favorable end. The food is better some days than others and they seem to run out of things a lot, but it’s hard to find good Hawaiian food outside of Hawaii so...we keep going back. On my last visit my order was wrong and I couldn’t get it through the cashier’s thick pot cloud that she didn’t include items we paid extra for. It was very frustrating and I just gave up without resolving it. I do recommend the place but removed 2 stars for the food quality inconsistency and running out of popular items often and for the service people being unaware that legal or not, not all customers appreciate a restaurant’s employees getting high while at work or the smell of pot in such a small confined space.More

First they really stuff the containers with lots of food and it isn't just white rice. I ordered there twice and both times had 2 meals for under $15.00's. All the meat is seasoned as if in Hawaii very tasty. Mac and cheese is very...good. While it is not fine dining it is pretty darn good. You can find this place by the smell of meat cooking, they have a exhaust fan blowing the meat cooking toward the side walk.More

Ate here while staying at the Hampton Inn and Suites. 3 minutes walk. Prices are good and servings large. However the taste is just ok and could be a lot better. Plastic forks and knives are like rubber and very hard to impossible to cut...the meat. Won't be back.More

Love everything I have had from them. Sometimes the Mac salad can be inconsistent (90% of the time it's perfect) but their garlic chicken sandwich is seriously delicious.

It was between meal times, and I was experiencing the "hungries." So I stopped in to get a to-go snack. Ordered side of lumpia and a musubi. It was ready in 10 minutes. 😉 Lumpia was crispy and light (not greasy)- served with chili dipping...sauce. Conveniently located by ferry terminal.More

My husband, who grew up in Hawaii, loved this place. He took me and we shared some pulled pork. It was so oversalted we could hardly eat it. Might try again another time.

A simple counter seat set up, with a few tables, offers a tremendous Hawaiian BBQ Plate Lunch/Dinner feast with tons of meats, and big scoops of rice and Mac salad. The smell off the grill is mesmerizing and the flavor is tantalizing. Mostly a take...out joint, sitting at the counter is loads of fun with friends, while enjoying delicious Hawaiian BBQ. With under $20 bucks, there's so much food piled high, it can be finished off as leftovers repeating the same fun. The second time in Bremerton and the Kama'aina Grill. Dish de lish!More

Tucked away a few steps from the ferry terminal, take a stroll down a side street in Oahu! Everything you could want in authentic island cuisine is here. Just like the street food in Oahu, it's full of flavor and huge portions. With six counter...stools and two small tables in the back, the place can be jammed, but well worth the wait. Pulled pork, Mac salad, short ribs, chicken: you can't order anything bad. Do not judge this book by it's cover. Check your eatery snobbism at the door, shoulder your way in, and eat til you bust...More
