My husband and I stopped in today for lunch and we were SO happy we did! Authentic Mexican food. No chips, no flour tortillas. Just great, fresh food. I created my own sampler with a tamale, a tostado and a quesadilla. Yum! Two thumbs up.

We found this little diamond by accident while passing through town. It's a small unassuming place but once you take your first bite you're closing your eyes and moaning with pleasure. The food was flavorful without being salty. Wonderful use of spices in the food and salsa. This was real Mexican food cooked, and served, the way it's supposed to... More

Out of the way and not fancy but great Mexican food (no chips, yeah!) Had specialty pork dish. Great service and reasonable prices.

This little unassuming place is a treasure trove of goodness! So very different from what we have come to accept as "real" Mexican food! No chips and salsa on the table but the pickled carrots were yummy! We enjoyed the food; plain and simple but delicious.

I'll be brief, because my sentiments seem already on the site here. This is a perfect family Mexican place, different from the norm in USA because it's menu is regional Michoacán Mexican. Everything is very good. But to spin away from American-typical, do consider things like the Carnitas, Chile Verde (spicy), Tamales, or the soups like Carne En Su Jugo,... More

The service was great and food was really yummy. Don't be afraid to eat there even though the building was not so nice outside it was delicious.

Stopped here on our way from Portland to Seattle. We were so glad we did. Friendly place with delicious food. Ordered the special for the day - beef with red chili sauce, that was some of the best red chili I have ever had. Also we had the pork carnitas, which were tender, juicy, and very flavorful. Homemade tortillas and... More

We were staying overnight in Centralia, en route from Portland to Vancouver. A search on TripAdvisor indicated that La Tarasca Restaurant might be a great choice for our evening meal. On arrival, we learned that La Tarasca features the authentic cuisine of Michoacan, a state in West Central Mexico. During visits to three other Mexican states, we’d enjoyed many fresh,... More

Extremely kind staff were gracious to my friend when I was really late on the way between Portland and Seattle. THE FOOD WAS GREAT! I haven't had good Mexican food for years since I've been living in the Midwest. Many thanks, La Tarasca!
