We couldn't believe that the place has been around for awhile. Truly a hole in a wall. The place is nicely decorated. The server was extremely nice...sweet type. We did not know about no menu. The price ison the board. But we didn't mind since the foods were made from scratch and delicious although I wished to have the purple... More

Glad I found this on TA. Menu for today consisted of three main dishes. I opted for the Stroganoff with spatzel and a potato and sausage soup. Oh boy. Served with fresh rye bread, very flavorful. Lots of Hungarian paprika in the Stroganoff, and the soup was so amazing. Wished I could have the spiced wine, but I was on... More

Wife and I have been wanting to try this place for a while. Everything is made from scratch right there. The food is amazing and rotates daily. Everything is good. This is not fast food but the wait is well worth it. Go and enjoy.

Budapest Bistro is not a fancy place, not at all. However, the food was very good and the service was wonderful. The menu is limited to a few entrees each day and each day's fare, along with the prices, are written on the menu board. Again, not fancy. I chose the cucumber salad (wonderful) while my companion had the coleslaw... More

Since I know my way around Hungarian cuisine, I can attest that several of the daily menu items are far from the native tradition. While the chicken paprika may come close to an authentic recipe, and the spätzle or cabbage rolls are OK, what passes for a pörkölt (or gyulás as it's known elsewhere) doesn't bear any trace of the... If I was rating based on the taste and quality of the food this would definitely be 5 stars. I had to take off a star for the lack of prices on the chalkboard menu. That wouldn't have been so bad but is asked the server how much the side orders were and she said about $2.50 when I went... More

Beware, while the food is decent there are only three dishes served each day and, the biggest problem, there are no prices posted for anything. We went here and had two plates of food (that are dished out of the deli counter in front of you) two beers and one small dessert and the bill was $60! Really ridiculous. The... More

Tiny menu. Today it was a schnitzel, goulash, and (dang! cannot remember). I went with the schnitzel and I've had many good schnitzel's in Europe and US. The Jaeger Schnitzel was one of the best I have ever had anywhere in the world!. Add to that the potatoes, Hungarian coleslaw (pickled, shredded vegetables), and the pistachio & fruit cake (sorry... This is a small restaurant in a strip mall style shopping center that can easily be overlooked. Disregard this place only if you wish to deny yourself a wonderful homestyle meal that is way better than general restaurant fare. The menu apparently changes daily and can also change during the day if they run out of a dish. The night... More

We stumbled across this small family bistro a couple years ago before a trip to Eastern Europe and thought we'd try the cuisine before arriving in Budapest. Since then, we have returned numerous times for the home cooked flavors of Budapest Bistros' menu. Although they don't provide a full menu, we have never been disappointed with any of the choices...
