The food is wonderful. I go there for lunch any chance I get. Try the fried green tomatoes, they are amazing. If the catfish is on the menu it would be a tough choice. The art and the craftsmanship of the furniture there is spectacular. You need to check it out if haven't yet.

This is a midway rest stop location for my travels between NC and PA. The food is good, better than your average truck stop or fast food place, but it's a little pricier as well, so expect that. It's nice to stop here, look at the crafts (maybe buy one), use the facilities which are always clean, and get a... More

all the food is great and you always have different choices daily. My favorite is dessert esp the cocunut cream pie! all made on site. Cat fish and fried green tomatoes are often on the menu as a special delight. Te price is right, food is great and you have all the beautiful juried arts and crafts to enjoy and... More

If you are traveling north/south on the East coast, you must stop at Tamarack for both the wonderful West Virginia crafts as well as the outstanding Greenbrier food. You can get a gourmet meal in fast food time. It is served cafeteria style on actual dinner plates with real silverware in a nice environment. I always get the trout because... More

We often stop here while en route, usually for lunch. My husband is very fond of the trout and said that the green beans he ordered with it were perfectly cooked. I enjoy the BBQ sandwich, especially the cole slaw served with it. Both are so filling that we never make it to dessert but the desserts look tasty. After... More

We have stopped many times at the Tamarack food court. They have a Burger King, Starbucks, Quiznos, and a couple of others. There is also a small grocery store and gift shop. They always have clean restrooms.

I've been stopping at the Tamarack for years on the way to the sunshine. This cafeteria style restaurant features a menu put together by chefs affiliated with the famous Greenbriar resort, and it is a reasonably priced and delicious alternative to the chains. Tamarack features homey selections done well. They usually have fried green tomatoes and some sort of "greens."... More

Stopped for a break. Ended up eating at the food court. I had a great piece of salmon and a salad, and my wife had a turkey deli sandwich and soup. Big portions and tasty.

We stop at the Tamarack every time we travel from Kentucky to Virginia or North Carolina. The food is always well prepared and is ready and waiting when we arrive. While it's served from a steam table, buffet-style, it's more like "gourmet" in quality and taste. On our most recent quick trip, we stopped two days in a row! We... More

It's a very different type of place. They have a lot of really neat art everywhere, but in a neat and organized way. Everything is centered around West Virginia culture. The staff was very polite to me, and the food was good. My one complaint is that it's so expensive.
