Stopped in solo for a bite while next door at the marriott. This night staff or food did not live up to expectations. Started with shrimp cocktail appraiser. Menu says 5 shrimp at 17.95. It was delivered with only 4. I'm thinking at least three people looked at this plate and they short me a shrimp . It was placed... More

while traveling in West Virginia last month had occasion to eat at The Chop House in Charleston, please don't waste your time or money. The ribeye looked like a sirloin and was at most !/2 inch thick. The dining area was nearly empty and yet service was slow

Nothin' special here. Promises of an upscale steakhouse in a downtown setting. Valet parking is interesting. Parking garage close by lacks decent signage and access if you aren't already familiar with this location. The menu is the usual mid-western upper-scale steakhouse. Had the Lobster Bisque as an appetizer. Could have been served warmer and had better flavor. We remarked to... More

Best restaurant in town for seafood. Other items on the menu are also delicious. Good service tops off a wonderful evening!

chose the chop house to celebrate a big closing...we had never been here mainly b/c we are out- of- towner's, however word of mouth brought us in...thought the hostess was kind of arrogant and dismissive but the waiter made up for her...martinis were top shelf...steaks were excellent, lobster, crab cakes and sides as well... 2 things @ restaurants always get... We travel frequently and were on our way to the Cleveland Climic stopping in Charleston. Used Trip Advisor to find hotel and restaurant for dinner. Marriott Coutyard was everything one expects from Marriott....however the Chop House was not. We called and were told no reservation was needed. Arrived at 7 pm and no place to park and no valet, while... More

Went there with spouse for a special occasion. The staff are dressed like penguins and are trained to deliver meals at the same time (making a big to-do with the presentation). I ordered a steak and the waiter wasn't watching what he was doing and poured the bloody juice from the steak all over my lap (by tipping the plate).... More

We were travelling through Charleston and wanted a light supper in a Sunday night. Our original destination was closed, so saw the sign for this one and gave it a try. We ordered the crab and lobster cakes and two salads, the house salad and the kale and quinoa. The food was wonderful. The bill was $50. Our waiter was... More

We were on the way home from a week long camping trip, stopped in WV and wanted to treat ourselves to a nice meal- since we had been surviving on camp food the past couple days. A man at the hotel told us that the Chop House was good but that it was $50 a plate. We had never been... More

This was our first time eating here and we were blown away! They honestly made the best steak that I've ever eaten! We loved the setting and the service. The sweet potato casserole was out of this world! We can't wait to go back!!
