I live in Lewisburg. I have been to The Livery multiple times, and the quality of food and service is always a gamble. Our family of 3 had a reservation at 6 PM on New Year's Eve. Fairly early, and only approximately 5-6 tables were filled at that time. Not busy, at all. Our waiter was Chris. We sat for... More

Everyone enjoyed their menu selection but the service was strongly slow on a night that there was very few tables seated.

The service was top notch and the food was awesome. Our waiter took time to answer questions about the wine list menu offerings. The food was prepared the way we requested, was served in a timely fashion and was top notch, will go there again

My husband and I were on a "staycation" around southern West Virginia. Our stop in Lewisburg included a visit to The Livery. We had heard lots of good things but this was our first time there. We were looking for appetizers and cocktails and could not have asked for better. My husband had the roasted oysters and they were so... More

We visit Lewisburg often and it has many great restaurants. On this visit to the Livery we had outstanding steaks (best I have had in months) and split a Ceasar's salad which is was also top notch. Prices are slightly higher than other choices in Lewisburg. Our server was polite and helpful but we Experienced long waits between arriving, putting... More

We had heard a lot of great things about this restaurant. It was good but nothing I would rave about. The hostess and wait staff were great! The decor was nice and we got to dine outside. Again, it was good but for our short stay in Lewisburg we would have rather tried somewhere else.

A visit to Lewisburg would not be complete without a visit to The Livery. Our server was friendly, knowledgable, and prompt. He advised my husband well on his choice of entrees. My husband had the Penne ala Vodka which he said was well prepared with just the right amount of "zip." I had the trout amandine. A beautiful piece of... More

We enjoyed the food here, from great pastas to fresh seafood. The sauces were really good without being overpowering. I had a side of asparagus which cost me $1 per each piece of asparagus! Ridiculous. The wine list is not extensive but well thought out. Besides the vegetable issue, we enjoyed our meal. Try the front porch seating if it... More

The setting is comfortable in an upscale, rustic way. Food was very good (we had trout). It is pricey in comparison to other restaurants in this town. But good for a change.

We were in town and starved so we stopped at the first restaurant we came to. Fortunately it was the Livery! Our dinners were so delicious! Three of us had trout almandine which was the biggest pieces of trout we had ever seen and the best we had ever eaten! The bread with dinner was delicious. We had a great... More

First and foremost, our family loves the town of Lewisburg; it's shops, people and rich history. Our family has been visiting Lewisburg since 2003 when we purchased Westwinds, a horse farm in western Virginia near Lake Moomaw. While we've enjoyed the several restaurants in town, we also felt the locals as well as tourists would welcome and support more restaurant options, and so far we've been right! Our family's first restaurant, Stella's, has been a hit since we opened in January, 2011. Stella's, named and inspired after our mom Alice Stella Hirt who passed away in 1985, is warm, welcoming and elegant, just like our mom was. Stella's has many feminine touches which were influenced by our mom and put into place by Tammy. Our newest restaurant, The Livery Tavern, on the other hand is a very masculine interpretation of a mid-1800's tavern, with an open beamed ceiling and a generous use of natural materials and earth tones both inside and out. The Livery has a full bar, privacy booth seating, outdoor patio seating and an extensive wine and port list. Our menu is a reflection of this same interpretation, with dishes including grilled venison, quail, lamb and local beef cuts like 2 inch bone-in rib eyes. The Livery is also fashioned with a unique military motif to honor our father Major General John B. Hirt USMC, who passed away in 2012. You'll find these military influences in our logo and other decorative treatments inside the restaurant.
