We had always planned to dine at c.1880, and glad we finally made it. Smaller restaurant (reservations suggested) with a wide variety of very tasty meal options that you won't find anywhere else. Service was attentive and outstanding.

I have eaten at this restaurant three times. This will be my last time. The food has varied from very good to so-so to mediocre. However, what has been consistent is the service: amateurish and slow. Saturday night, we arrived at 7.30, at 8.00 we still had no drinks(!) and our order had not been taken... The table service throughout... More

It's telling when you walk into a restaurant and the menu is so varied, you ponder it all, then see the chefs using their skills to make the next delicious dish out of the corner of your eye, while your wait staff discuss the menu, and the chemistry of all the new drinks is waiting for you. You don't know... More

My partner and I have visited c.1880 frequently in the past, and we've always enjoyed their food. This last time was a complete disappointment on several levels, and we are unsure whether we ever want to go back. We ordered some foie gras, which we received very cold and hard. That's fine - we just needed to let it warm... More

We had dined at this restaurant several times and had great experiences. Not anymore. The last THREE trips have had worsening service and food. The people here just no longer care. Cold or overcooked food, complacent wait staff, and bad attitudes. We had recommended this place to colleagues and friends, and have had to formally retract those recommendations because it’s... This place has a great menu, both food and drinks, and the service is very good and fun. I will definitely go back because there are so many other things I'd like to try.

This place tries really hard to be a Food Network darling, but it simply falls short of fine-dining expectations. The appetizers and entrees were needlessly weird and not filling or tasty. Thank goodness this was a business meal. I would have been even more dissatisfied if I had to pay the bill. In fairness, I have to also mention that... More

c1880 has become our favorite restaurant. Last week I ordered the scallops and the were great. My husband got the lamb. Have never been disappointed by the meals. My only complaint was it was a little chilly in the restaurant. We will be back.

Very nice spot for dinner in the Walker's Point section of Milwaukee. You must try the Celeriac Soup....it is simply awesome!! Everything was well prepared and very tasty. Highly recommend!

We went here for NYE and were definitely NOT disappointed. From the veloute with chestnuts to the foie gras (Chef Thomas makes it himself) to the spare ribs so tender it melted in my mouth - simply everything was excellent. The whatchamacallit for dessert was so good it was almost ridiculous. Josh did an excellent job pairing the wines with... More
