I was very disappointed in the quality of my entree and presentation. Equally disappointing were the prices, especially for a cup of decaf!

This is my favorite restaurant in Jackson. If you're craving fish this is the place to go. Always a couple appetizer and main options. Usually with an Asian influence. Always chicken and meat option too. Good wines by the glass and inventive cocktails. During off season they have a small plate menu.

Everything we had was great - Loved the "mixed grill" appetizer and the pork chop - still dreaming about it! And, off season they offer 2 for one entrees! What's not to like? Very popular place - reservations suggested!

Recently while with a tour of 35, six if us read the advertisement of the Kitchen and decided it sounded like our kind of place. We each ordered something different to try. One person ordered the beef stew. No bread or crackers, nothing to eat with it.Ask for bread, no bread in the place. Some ordered salads that did not... More

We truly enjoy the Kitchen...food, ambiance and staff. Very tasty burger to perfectly fixed scallops...interesting choices that change and always delight. We'll return!

We had an excellent dinner here. The duck confit was particularly noteworthy. Everything was delicious and the service was very good. The only complaint is it is very loud. The restaurant was crowded and there is nothing to absorb any sound. Plus the tables are close together. All in all the quality of the food outweighs the noise. Try it.

Best meal in Jackson. Calamari appetizer was tender and succulent. Wife's halibut cooked perfectly and best she's had. I had scallops. Grilled scallops were good, but the red curry broth was flavorful, had just the right bite and made the dish. Waitress made excellent suggestion for wine for wife. Warning: wine by the glass is a small pour. Bottle would... More

We stopped in for a meal here and it was great! The restaurant has curved design interior and the service and food was fantastic. We has selections from the raw bar menu and other entrees all of which were delicious. A great evening and highly recomended

Food was an interesting synergy of east with west, and had a good range of selections for both vegetarians and carnivores. Food was good, cleanly presented, different. Staff could have been a tad friendlier, but they were efficient. Guess they would have preferred we dined on the patio, rather than inside. Huh! But we're paying, right.

We loved the location, the service was good. However the menu a little hard to understand if your unfamiliar with the Vietnamese menu. With a name like "the kitchen" I was thinking comfort foods. The plates our table of 7 received were all sent back expect 3. We did not like the uncooked meats, sour vegetables, spicy calamari or dried... More

Description
The idea for The Kitchen came from a vision of a restaurant that would provide something different - a refined, yet casual establishment that would provide modern cuisine with a comforting twist. The cuisine at The Kitchen embraces various culinary techniques and ingredients including all natural meats, seasonal vegetables, and sustainable, fresh fish. The presentation is clean, simple and natural. The beautiful and elegant architecture of the building mirrors the concepts in the food. Purchased in June 2005, the old A-frame structured house was renovated to create a space with award-winning design and remarkable ambiance. The modern yet comforting theme led to the bamboo bar and tables, the luminescent eco-panel wave of light, and natural color scheme. An open kitchen design allows for greater connection with guests and offers a personalized experience. Enjoy a large outdoor deck during the long summer nights or sit by the warm fireplace in winter.
