We stopped for a quick lunch. Food was good. There aren't many options in the area but this is a good choice.

Stopped by for a quick lunch on our way north to Place of Refuge. Service was quick and very friendly. Sandwich breads are made in house and we had one of the best grilled cheese sandwiches we've ever had! We will definitely return!

My family of five was excited to find out that this restaurant opened at 8 am for breakfast. Great food! The omelettes are substantial and the French toast was thick and seasoned well. The Big Breakfast was a large oval platter/plate of food for about $10-$11.

We found this little gem while traveling back to Kona from the Volcano National Park. We were intrigued by the claim that they were the southernmost restaurant in the USA. Our family of 8 received a warm and friendly welcome. The menu was extensive and offered a lot of local flavors. We ordered, and highly recommend, the catch of the... More

On the scenic drive along Hawaii ' s southern coast, we found Hana Hou. It's an airy little place, very casual. They also have a couple motel rooms to rent. The items on the menu range from burgers/sandwiches to salads, local faves, and house specials. From the latter menu, we chose the stuffed papaya...1/2 papaya filled with macadamia nut chicken... Vowed to enjoy typical Hawaiian cuisine which includes Moco Loco. Way too much food but tastes as memory recalled. Vegans, GF free dieters beware the brown beef gravy, white rice, fried eggs, spam. Salty, heavy; tastes much better than it should. Skip lunch and wait for dinner.

We stopped based on the rave reviews. I had the BBQ pork and potato wedges. The pork tasted off and the wedges weren't quite done and had several black spots left on them.

We stopped by for lunch on our way back from visiting the black sand beach. The restaurant is on a side street and easy to miss, but you definitely don't come here for the ambiance, although I must say I liked its quirkiness. The wait staff are hard workers and do a great job, as they kept our water glasses... More

We stopped on our way back from Southpoint and the food was good. Small place friendly staff and reasonable prices.

We found Hana Hou the night before the last day of our 3 week holiday on the southern shores of the big island. To be brief we found a menu of tastey yet simple dishes. Wonderful baked goods for dessert or a snack. Great friendly and quick service. This is a good resturant for the family. I would have gained... More
