I love noodle soup and the saimin here filled us up. We ordered the small bowl saimin special - which included chicken on sticks and extra nappa cabbage. The broth was flavorful and it was a generous portion of noodles.

Loved the food. Great place to go for sampling local delicious saimin noodles. The place is very local, so manage your expectations about the atmosphere. It could definitely use a fresh coat of paint and some updating.

I ordered the hilo style saimin, small size and it was delicious, simple and large for a small. My hubs had the same but in the large size, ample portions and delicious flavor. My only wish is that the service wasn't so harried, and they had more spicy options. Do not miss the mochi chocolate cake loaf, so delicious!!

Nori's has always cooked up tasty local-ish food. After sampling the Tsukemono Salmon at the Bite of Hilo I had to try it in their restaurant. It is excellent . . . they have combined two seemingly incongruous ingredients into a wonderful entree. The restaurant isn't fancy and it's a bit hole-in-the-wall-ish, but the food is tasty, and I like... More

Big servings! Selection to suit everyone's desire. Japanese style like Shoyu butterfish. American like Hamburger Steak coming out on a sizzling cast iron plate.

This is a true Hawaiian restaurant. It took me back to my childhood on Oahu. The food was over the top. Atmosphere is not going to win any awards but the food and the low prices make up for it.

We were recommended this restaurant by a local lady in Lyman museum for best saimin in Hilo. The restaurant did not disappoint. We loved Hilo style saimin, and came back the next night. This time, we tried something different: Korean hot pots with Unagi and bibimbop. Great, hearty home style food. I can compare it to Manago on Kona side... More

This is your classic old fashioned local food restaurant. They sell chocolate mochi and other goodies at the counter and Hello Kitty stuff everywhere. I love the candy machines at the booths. They serve Japanese, Korean, Hawaiian ol' skool fusion....before fusion was a 'thing'. My favorite item is the Nori burger and small saimin combo. It's a teriyaki hamburger with... More

I was visiting family in Hilo and were deciding on where to have lunch. Kaleo suggested Nori's. I had the large Saimin with "Hilo" style noodles. Wow! Very, very good. I almost could not finish it..... Almost. The food, the atmosphere, the patrons, the hospitality all reminded me of my childhood on Maui. A very different time in Hawaii. The... More

I choked and another person I was with, started to have a runny nose. Both were historical reactions to too much MSG.
