Its a local divey looking kind of place, but its exactly the kind of place I like. Feels like its been there forever and that they know what they are doing. Not a fancy place at a all, but the food is hot and tasty and there is way too much of it. We had the trio combo and I... More

They have been serving food at Teshima's since 1929 so states the sign in the restaurant and is a fifth generation of family members in the business. The food is bits and pieces of Japanese foods and tastes. The #2 was the best option for me and it was tasty, quite filling and certainly an ample portion. My wife had... More

Had soba noodle special and combo #3. Both were very good. Excellent tempura and sukiyaki. Service quick and prices reasonable.

We happened upon Teshima's by chance, on the way to a distant snorkeling bay, and we could not have been more satisfied with the food, service and prices. It felt like a treasured outpost, with wonderful tuna, shrimp and soups, and we will return.

A well-known family-run eatery for local residents and visitors, this restaurant's matriarch Auntie Mary Teshima recently passed away at the age of 106! Their food is delicious and reasonably priced; check out their combination plates which include a sampling of Japanese staples like miso, sukiyaki, sashimi, tempura, fried ahi and more. If you're looking for an "upscale" dining experience, stay... More

When our B & B hostess recommended Teshima's. she said that movie star Jimmy Stewart had loved it, and we were afraid we might find a very expensive, elegant place with tiny portions. Wrong on all counts! The portions were very generous, dishes were not complex but they were excellent. Atmosphere, with many family groups and happy laughter, made us... More

This place is a local institution but the food is less than mediocre. I have been to alot of local Japanese places in various towns and this place is right out of decades earlier but the food is not good or fresh, the flavors are mushy. I loved seeing how regulars were greeted and elders are catered to but the... More

They are open later that other sushi places which is why I ended up there. Off the plane and determined to try Hawaiian Japanese food I went searching for sushi. Most sushi places were closed but Teshima's was open. While I had my heart set for some raw fish the tempura at Teshima's made me pretty content. The quality of... More

We had 20 extended family members there, made the reservation with only two days notice and they still made room! I had the Shrimp tempura with beef teriyaki and was terrific! I did not hhear anyone complain about their orders! We always eat here once or twice during our vacation.
