We were friends - four couples staying in Kapoho, 20 minutes drive from Pahoa. Looking for dinner out at the end of our time together, we chose Ning's. The decor was Big Island Funk crossed with Thai. The wait staff were charming and attentive. Three of us shared a fragrant chicken thom yum soup. The satay was good, the veg... More

Living in Pahoa, we go to Ning's often and my favorite is the Coconut Soup with Chicken (medium, not hot...that's way to hot for me). Now, I'm telling you, it is the very best soup, meal, delight I have had at any restaurant in Pahoa! That's no kidding! It's obviously family owned and operated and I can't tell you enough... More

For such a small town, this is really good, and authentic, thai food. Esp the cucumber salad. Best one I ever ate.

This is a good spot for straightforward Thai food. Its byo and can get crowded so a reservation might help. Good flavor and good spice (we got Medium) and even with our Indian food tolerance felt it was on the spicy side. We did this after the 9mile bike trip/sunset Volcano viewing in Kalapana and was much better than driving... More

We've been on the Hawaiian islands for 2 weeks and have had plenty of good food. However, this Thai restaurant is hands down the best meal we've eaten at. Tip for eating there...If you don't normally put jalapeños on food or other hot condiments, you'll want to order your food with the "mild" spice level. (Jalapeños don't come in the... More

Very good Thai but apparently they like to use heat order medium and you will get what is hot in most places. A note under the glass on the table warns that there is no returning dishes once they come. That said, the papaya salad and soup were first class, just a bit too hot--though we did acclimate. The street... More

A small and quaint family owned restaurant in "downtown" Pahoa. Don't let the simple decor deceive you as the food is complex. fresh, and spiced to your taste. We love spicy foods in general....found their Hot level to be be more super-hot. Nose blowing/forehead wiping hot. Can't imagine the Thai Hot level that they offer. Great for take out or... More
