Very funny lodge, very weird room with tackiest decor ever, loudest bathroom fan, windows on parking lot, so no privacy. Extremely noisy drains at night when it rains. Otherwise bed okay and good housekeeping and cleanliness. Front desk in a separate building 2 miles away.

The restaurant is in a classic lodge built in the 30s with a large fireplace. Excellent service and well prepared food. I enjoyed the paupiettes of beef. I 'd suggest reservations. The restaurant is quite popular.

We had wonderful breakfast here! Green sands omelet and banana pancakes were delicious! The portions are really big- good to eat before hiking in Volcanoes National Park ;-) Friendly staff.

Annie had Mahi-Mahi, it was good. I had a creamy white fish(don't remember the name) but seared, medium rare. This we both felt was excellent. Best meal ever eaten at an American National Park. You can't get a fine restaurant type of meal at Glacier, Yellowstone, or the Grand Canyon National Park restaurants. Not just because it was "fish", I... More

Aloha Steve I think you meant to review The Volcano House restaurant "The Rim". Kilauea Lodge is a mile outside of the Volcanoes National Park in the Village of Volcano. easy mistake. Mahalo Lorna More

We had dinner last month (October, 2016) at the Kilauea Lodge.. We had reservations as advised by our hotel staff but did notice empty tables during the evening. Having dined there previously we had our mind set on duckling a la orange. However, when we arrived we found that this dish was not on the menu that evening. In fairness,... More

There aren't many places to eat in Volcano, but this place is a gem. The menu is diverse. I wondered where/how they got the ingredients for dishes that even in mainland cities would be eclectic. The menu changes daily and all entrees came with a soup or salad, starch, and a vegetable. We tried both of the soups, a creamy... More

Friends recommended this restaurant so we made reservations. It's a casual cozy environment. The staff was super friendly. They have some unique and diverse entrees on the menu which vary in price from mid $20s and average low to mid $30s. The starter bread was great and on this night had sunflower seeds in it. The hunter soup was a... More

Description
Kilauea Lodge and Restaurant, located in the quiet village of Volcano, sits on 5 acres of gardens and gazebos and native forest. This hotel restaurant features a large fireplace, local art, koa tables, and is open nightly. Chef/owner Albert Jeyte blends flavors from his European background with farm, ranch and seafood products from Hawaii, the surrounding Pacific and elsewhere.

Volcano Village is at 3700 feet elevation and evenings are often cool and misty. The historic fireplace welcomes guests with it's cheery fire. Home made soups and breads tease the appetite. Albert specializes in unusual game...venison, antelope, rabbit, duck. The biggest sellers are local fish dishes; ahi, ono, mahimahi and the exotic Tristan lobster. A large wine list complements the eclectic menu.
