Wife had the shrimp poke bowl and I had the spicy ahi tuna poke bowl. We also the a side of mac salad. Price was reasonable and the food was good. Mac salad was traditional Hawaiian style and pretty good.

A good friend and our rental car shuttle driver both mentioned this is the 'must stop' poke place north of the Lihue Airport. Very happy that we listened! Stopped here twice during our four-day stay on the island. First time was around 2pm and they were very clearly wiped out on their usual lunch options. Second time we stopped by... More

This is an unassuming local lunch spot where your order deli style. Get in line and order a poke bowl (one scoop of brown or white rice with your choice of poke). We always ordered half spicy ahi tuna and half sesame ahi tuna - we thought the spicy ahi was too much on it's own. The fish is fresh... More

Small, unassuming spot. A little fish market recommended by a local tour company. The traditional poke bowl was cheap and delicious. Very fresh tasting! Also has a coffee shop inside, but we didn't have any.

There always seems to be a line at Pono Market, so we left it to the last day of our stay and made sure we got there on the early side. There was a garden of my favorite Hawaiian foods (musabis, pork, chicken) but there was a great selection of poke and we went with the classic ahi. Very good... More

The hot lunch plates are great for trying local food at a reasonable price. You can tell the locals go here so you know it's authentic. The poke was ok but previously frozen as noted on the card that day. I had the spicy poke and the sesame poke. The spicy was ok but I didn't care for the creaminess... More

If you are watching the spending while on your trip in Kauai, then this hidden gem is for you. They had the most delicious, authentic Hawaiian food on the entire island. My favorite was the poi made in Hanalei Bay. The prices were *very* reasonable, too. Please stop here for lunch ... you will not regret it!

If you want poke this is your spot. Potato-mac salad, prepared sushi rolls, and fried chicken were all very good, too. They open at 6 so get their early because they do run out of prepared food. They also have beverages, including beer, and ice. I received a beautiful lei from a lovely woman and I certainly felt that aloha... More

Our favorites: Hawaiian Plate - generous portion of hot food (pulled pork, pork stew, etc), choice of poke side (ahi tuna chunks, etc), and salmon salad = $13. Rice balls and fried chicken (at the counter) are deliciously addictive (and sell out early)!

Pono Market so ono. Lomi Salmon, mac salad, kalua pig, fried chicken, Lau Lau; order anything on the menu and your belly will be satisfied. First, if you want kalua pig you need to go Monday, Wednesday or Friday. Second, if you want to get anything you need to get there pretty early. If you get there past noon you... More
