While I had a standard combo dinner of sashimi and chicken teriyaki, the special board showed a wide variety of sushi include Monk Fish Liver, Uni and some others you don't see very often.

Went there with a family including toddlers. The staff was very patient and nice. The menu offers a lot of orignal sushi assortments, and everything we order was tasty and well presented.

So, I like sushi. Not as much as my darling Husband, but I do enjoy. We went for dinner in San Francisco tonight and has the best sushi I HAVE EVER HAD. It was fresh, it was delicious and it was priced appropriately. The sashimi was divine, as was the temoura! We only have 3 days here, but we will... More

I have been coming here for 10 years and unfortunately it has been getting worse. The food is ok. But stick to sashimi and sushi. The cooked dishes are more oily and leaning towards Chinese cooking. I had he bento box with sashimi, chicken Katsu and sautéed vegetables. This comes with salad rice and miso soup. The salad was very... More

Maru is a small restaurant in the neighborhood of Union Square on Powell and Sutter. You have to climb a little to get there. They have an extensive menu of sushi, both the traditional and some new combinations. Service is prompt and corteous. Did not asked for dessert.

I came in starved and alone. Opened with agadashi tofu that was not good too big pieces not crunchy on the outside and a sauce that was a bit anemic The albacore was decent and so were the rainbow roll. No more. Unagi was good.

We looked this place up online and it had great reviews. The place is humble but very dynamic and the food is very nice. There were many Japanese dining there so that also gave us a good feeling. It won't disappoint
