Just in the heart of San Francisco you'll find this place with amazing atmosphere, delicious meal and cocktails No. 1 made by the best bartenders!! Perfect for chilling with friends after work what I used to do at least 3 times a week;) Great service, luxury bacon-cheddar tater tots and the best owners! Hi Adam & Stacey, I do miss... More

After landing in SF and looking for a good restaurant, our concierge recommended the Bluestem Brasserie just up form our hotel. We were greeted promptly, seated quickly at a window seat to view the life on the streets of SF. Our food was good, fried chicken sandwich, egg/bacon/pepperjack cheese burger and fries. The fries were some of the best we've... More

We had the cinnamon roll and Dutch Baby... both were delish. But everything looked good. Bigger than you think inside.

The food did not meet our expectations. It was below average was served lukewarm. Also, the weekend brunch menu is limited and runs until 3pm.

We had a reservation for a Sunday brunch, set for 11:30, prior to a 1:00 opera at the nearby Moscone Center. Two of my companions ordered the pigs in a blanket (a quiche-like dish). One came out underdone, the other burned to a crisp. I ordered pancakes, with bacon. The pancakes were excellent, but the bacon was limp, undercooked. The... More

There are few non-hotel choices near the center that take reservations, Bluestem is one. Had a very nice lunch with 3 others here. Service was efficient, food was very good though the menu was a bit limited. It became quite loud as more people arrived, definitely not a 'quiet little place'. But if you want a lively spot a bit... We had a nice dinner in a nice environment that was quiet enough to hold a conversation. The menu is somewhat limited but sufficient to meet everyone's needs...duck, chicken, scallops, and a burger. Food was well prepared and service was good. Everyone was satisfied.

Had a wonderful dinner here. The food is interesting, tasty and the service is excellent. Reasonable wines by the glass and some great sounding desserts that I was too full to try. From a burger to Lamb, the menu is varied and wide ranging. I'll look forward to another visit next time I'm in town.

Sleek and modern, glass and steel, airy space, nice lighting. It has the look of restaurants of these times, wood table tops, with no table cloths. I sampled several items. Pomegranate seeds and chicken liver on toast was a tasty app! Now I know an actual use for pomegranate seeds! Charcuterie board– while OK, it was definitely skimpy for $24.... More

Where to start? The service was impeccable. We were in a party of 40 and we had the waiters full attention, beverages full and anything we needed was brought quickly. The cheese tray was delicious, blue cheese, bread and salami were a notch above. The blue cheese fillet mignon was the best I've ever tried.Tender to cut, melt in your mouth with bursts of blue... Description
Offering all-day dining and outdoor rooftop terrace overlooking bustling Market Street, Bluestem Brasserie is an urban neighborhood restaurant, located just steps from the Four Seasons on Yerba Buena Lane. Designed by San Francisco's mod-master Olle Lundberg (Slanted Door, The Moss Room, Rudd Oakville Estate), the lively American brasserie is helmed by Executive Chef Francis Hogan (formerly of 50 Mason Social House, Two and Farallon in San Francisco) and features a familiar, protein-focused brasserie menu of fresh, simply composed dishes; nostalgic treats; distinct cocktails; a California-centric wine list with nods to France; and 12 wines on tap, sourced directly from some of Napa and Sonoma's finest producers and offered at a great value. Named after the indigenous North American grass favored by cattle ranchers, Bluestem showcases beautiful cuts of sustainably produced grass-fed beef from highly regarded purveyors.

Staying in SoMa

Neighbourhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighbourhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighbourhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
