Very unusual restaurant and bar in a slightly dodgy part of town. Tommy's has been around for years. It's a cash only business, so be prepared. The food is excellent, with customers picking up their order before going to sit at benches. On the other side is the bar, with a huge range of beers. Only thing is the website... More

They have a huge Thanksgiving dinner special featuring white turkey meat. But going a la carte with a turkey leg and less extras, it was half the price. I had a late Thanksgiving lunch, because the Thanksgiving dinner line is long long long. For the rest of the year, Tommy's is the best value place in SF for a meat... More

Impossible to miss place on corner of Geary & Van Ness, simply because of the art work on the building. Being newbies we wondered if there would be somewhere to sit, once we had reached the front of the line and got our food, (although line was back to the entrance door, it was quite small, so only waited about... Tommy's is opposite Mel's Drive-In on the corner of Van Ness and Geary, but couldn't be more different in atmosphere, Dark, and old-fashioned, with the beer to the left and the food to the right as you walk in. Great bar with a decent selection of domestic and imported beers, a world away from the "Bud or Coors" culture of... More

Yummmm..... Pastrami.... Fresh, warm and piled high on a fresh sour dough loaf! What more could you ask for? Oh ya... The sides.... Homemade baked beans and tomato salad are the best. Great place for a quick take out lunch or a place to hang with friends for dinner. Prices are great, service is good and the food is awesome!... More

While it was the cheapest ($10)meal I've had in San Francisco, by far actually, I would NOT come here again. Ever. I visited because I'm a DDD fan and Guy visited here. I got the "Wednesday special" and it was pretty tasteless. And, they didn't have a waitress until 5:40 so if you wanted a drink you had to go... More

Shared a brisket sandwich and a cold beer here after a day's worth of walking in San Francisco. The food was super tasty and good portions and there was a good selection of nice beers. Cheers guys!

When in doubt just stick with the basics, brisket, coleslaw, mashed potatoes and an IPA. Reasonable prices but don't except exceptional service, just imagine like walking into a saloon in Wild West.

Reasonable prices and large portions. I tried the turkey with gravy and mashed potatoes, not the best that I had but it was Still very good.

The food here is awesome! We had brisket & pastrami and it was mouth watering. We topped it off with mashed potatoes, gravy, and coleslaw which was delicious! Not to mention the homemade pickles! We left full and satisfied!

Thank Allison M
