The owners offer folks a free glass of wine while they wait - which definitely got me to linger my first night living in San Francisco! Located far out towards Ocean Beach around 38th and Geary, parking can become iffy in the evening so if you want to make the trek either take the 38 line or catch a Lyft.... More

The Pacific cafe is better than wonderful. A small, local community restaurant that has been serving up the same excellent seafood for years. There is always a line out the door and they serve you free wine while you wait for a table. The Fish is fresh, and cooked to perfection. This is a "must do" for anyone visiting The... More

I traveled from Virginia to San Francisco and made a bee line for the Pacific Cafe. The calamari steak is a melt in your mouth wonder. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Great neighborhood gem. They have a limited menu, but so what!. What they do do they do it well! Starts off with a free glass of wine at the door. They are very friendly and do not rush you to turn the table. We will go back time and time again!

Tuesday night, 45 minute wait, but the waitress kept us in wine. We were entertained by the happy, well fed people leaving. We asked what they would recommend and everyone would just gush about each dish. Finally, when our name was called and we were seated, nothing disappointed. The bread was amazing, the soup delicious, and the main course, very... More

Four of us (two couples-one in their sixties and the other in 30s) ate here in October. Daughter's boyfriend brought us here, as he has been dining here for years. Crab cakes were great, as was everything. Non-pretentious, excellent, fresh food. Can't add anything more to all the headings. They are on target; what a warm, welcoming place.

Fresh trout stuffed with crab? Salmon bisque? Homemade brothy clam chowder? All here! Plus fee wine on line while waiting for your table. This friendly family-owned seafood restaurant is pleasantly far from the pretentious places downtown both in spirit and geography. But it is only two short blocks from the fabulous Legion of Honor Museum and a great way to... More

From the lovely free glass of wine while we waited to the wonderful service and incredible fish,.. A wonderful dinner. I had oyster cocktail (soooo good, fresh shelled oysters) and grilled prawns with lemon butter. Highly recommend!

Before I begin I would like to let you know that they give you free wine while you wait! Who does that? I think they also give you a free glass of wine even if you don't wait. That was the case last night anyway. And now my review: (although I might've had you at free wine.) My sister and... More

We used to live in SFO, and ate here at least once per month. Now, we visit once every few years. Best salmon. Best bisque. Free wine while you wait. Warm, cozy atmosphere. Wait staff are quick and friendly. Homespun, local neighborhood restaurant. Highly recommend. Researching my current book, "Cardiac Catch," in Sea Cliff, which is next door to Pacific... More
