We had dinner here last night, and were glad we did. First, this is a very comfortable neighborhood restaurant without a lot of pretentions. The dining room is not large, but it is very warm and inviting. We found the staff helpful and attentive. The food was very good, and everything was clearly fresh and will prepared. I particularly liked... More

Osteria has been around for a long, long time. But my son and I visited it again after many years with some friends, and it was every bit as good as it was ten years ago. Osteria is truly a perfect neighborhood restaurant. Excellent food, reasonable prices, family friendly and most importantly, reservations generally not necessary. There are so many... More

I participated in a lovely business dinner for 3 here on a quiet Sunday night. Finding free parking on the street was easy. The menu had traditional favorites and some interesting specials. The food was fresh, well prepped, and tasty. Each of us cleaned our plates. The service was okay, but a bit inattentive given the 2/3rds empty restaurant.

We've been coming here for a few years but last Spring after one visit, we felt the food was starting to go downhill. We thought we’d had an off-night but last night's meal confirmed our doubts and sadly we won’t be back. My husband and I started with spinach salads. Whereas the spinach was fresh and tasty, the dressing missed... More

This is a charming small restaurant catering primarily to the local residents. Very attractive, busy around dinner, mostly and early crowd. The food is quite good, service provided by Juan was prompt, warm and friendly. The minestrone was wonderful with a variety of beans and fresh vegetables. The polo parmesan was nice but the tomato sauce was not remarkable. The... More

Definitely a recommendation to have some great Italian food if in the Italian neighborhood. Not a big menu, therefore the food is very fresh and delicious! Great service, great ambiance as it is just a little restaurant. Keep your eyes open for this spot surrounded by many other restaurants

It's in our neighborhood, and you can always get a table. The food seems to be the same for over a decade. I always end up getting the gnocchi with blue cheese sauce, because nothing on the menu appeals to me.

We first went to Osteria several years ago while visiting the Bay Area. We returned recently and found it just as excellent as before. The Tortellini della Casa is prepared with the restaurant’s rich and savory meat sauce and is absolutely delicious (be sure save some of the bread basket for the last bits of sauce!). The Insalata della Casa,... More

We wanted to eat in SF last Saturday night, but didn't want to deal with the pre Super Bowl street closures. I found Osteria by chance and was surprised to find such a wonderful neighborhood restaurant. We started with a glass of Sexual Chocolate...a full bodied, smooth red wine. The shrimp over artichokes were delicate with a dressing that brought... More
