Nice italian tratoria. Very friendly statf, great fresh pasta, pizzas and great wines. Beautiffull people. A little noisy, but that was ok for me.

We were staying on Lombard street so I searched for restaurants close to the area and A16 was one that came highly recommended by several blogs. However, they were written a few years ago which should have been my first warning sign.. When we arrived...More

The pizza was great , pasta marinara was refreshing with citrus flavor, and the bitter chocolate dessert was good.

We arrived 10 minutes before the kitchen closed but the waitress was kind enough to take our order super fast. Both dishes were amazing!

Well we happen to order different things and shared. The net-net is their pizza is really good and steak is so-so. Bean Soup was interesting but not really tasty. Wine selection is great. With many choices in the area this one would be relatively low...More

This is a compact restaurant with a bar scene at the front, some outdoor seating in the back and a tight dining area in their central space. We were literally backed up to a table for two. But the hostess and manager did everything possible...More

I attended this restaurant with a group and everything was delicious in our six course (with 2-3 items per course) family style meal. Particularly good was the burrata appetizer, funghi and salsiccia pizzas, saffron scialatielli pasta, Berkshire port and McFarland Springs trout secondi and the...More

We had the 3 course meal - each of which was excellent, but the portions were very small. Service was good and attentive. Seating was crowded

My husband and I visited San Francisco for the first time yesterday. A16 was highly recommended for dinner so after spending some time at the Wharf we headed there. We did not have a reservation so we were seated in the bar area which was...More

We have been coming to A16 for 8 years now. The food is lovely and the service is impeccable. You must try their delicious maccaronara, and their panzanella.

Marina District
Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful
backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to
the Marina. Originally the location for the
Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose
remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much
of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a
world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a
jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city.

There was at least one gluten free pasta I remember on the menu. But you will probably do best by calling the restaurant directly for any special dietary concerns.

A16 is a restaurant and wine bar bringing the delicious and hospitable traditions of lively Campania to San Francisco. The chic, rustic/modernist venue is named after the motorway that transverses the South of Italy. The restaurant features wood oven-fired Neapolitan Pizza and other specialties of Campania such as Maccaronara with ragu napoletana and house-made ricotta salata. The wine bar serves 40 wines by the glass and half bottle carafe. The list is 60 percent Italian, mostly from the South, and the other 40 percent is New World, celebrating premiere Italian varietals grown in California along with many California wines.
