We needed a meal before seeing a nearby show . We ordered food and drink and understand that the food takes a while to prepare but the wait staff stood around chatting for what seemed like ages before they decided to bring our drinks . Both pasta dishes weren't overly big in size but they were very tasty and we... More

For once it was a reasonably warm afternoon in San Francisco when we decided to eat at this restaurant. Almost as soon as we sat, we wanted to leave. The place was hot but the staff would not turn on the overhead fans. Sadly, we decided to stay. We ordered a couple of beers and a cocktail to start. I... More

Visited this restaurant after a hard day walking the streets of SF! The food was delicious and the serving staff was attentive, polite and welcoming. I'd definitely recommend this restaurant, the Margherita pizza was delicious!!

Enjoyed a very nice early dinner on 2/11 before the Chinese New Years parade. The chicken parmesan and homemade marinara were delicious.

We went during happy hour. We choose this place randomly after doing a walk through little Italy. It was clean, affordable and warm. Nicely decorated and a good choice of seating. $3 beers, cheap entrees and pizzas. Great service and tasty food. Highly recommended. Happy hour is something like 3-7pm M-F.

We had an early dinner which meant we got excellent service & cheaper drinks due to it being Happy (3) Hour. Good menu selection with meals not being over-sized which was a nice change from the usual sized meals in the US. The mushroom risotto & ravioli were excellent. Reasonably priced too.

Arrived at happy hour - enjoyed a couple of starters and a belini - was delicious! For our main meal we had pizzas, reasonable pricing for the quality of food. Fresh, flavoursome and clean with large portions.

Yum...beautiful evening sitting outside the restaurant people watching and having a wonderful dinner. The Taglietelle Bolognese and Farfalle Diavolo pasta dishes were fantastic. Only thing that was a bit off was the service.

Staying in North Beach / Telegraph Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
North Beach / Telegraph Hill
The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, the sounds of opera, and the sights of the romantic Italian ristorante come together to create the charming neighbourhood of North Beach, once the stomping grounds for the Beatnik Generation. Although parts of North Beach are known for nightlife that’s not always suitable for younger visitors, few neighbourhoods in the city exude as much European charm and style. Peruse a bookstore for the literature of Kerouac, Ferlinghetti and Ginsberg, grab some gelato and head to Washington Square for a perfect afternoon of people watching. Just east of North Beach, the hills and staircases of Telegraph Hill are a unique delight. At its peak, the art deco Coit Tower provides sweeping panoramic views of the bay and city. The beautifully landscaped Filbert Street Steps, a street too steep for a roadway, rewards those willing to hike uphill. Keep your ears open and you might even hear the squawk of the wild parrots who call this neighbourhood home.
