When we lived in San Francisco, this was always our go to place. Seemed to be the favorite place of locals. Food was excellent and service was tops. Be prepared for a long wait if you come after 5pm.

A few friends took us to Scoma this past summer. Wow! The place is unforgettable. Everything from the waterfront location to the funky layout and service are top grade. Add to that the food...yikes! Good stuff. I recommend the swordfish, but that's a personal favorite.

This place has been around since 1965. The retro decor is great. This place is fancy eating in a casual setting. No need to dress up. Reservations are recommended. I had the Dungeness Crab which was delicious and reasonably priced. Good for dates or family dinners.

We ordered the oysters and prawns as starters. This was followed by crab Thermidor which was excellent. There was a good wine list and the service was spot on.

Scomas was my favorite place to dine in when in SF. Their Cioppino was by far the best in the country. Unfortunately this visit I noticed a big change in there preparation and presentation of the meals and it no more stands out. The atmosphere is still good but I wish they did not have to scale back on their... More

Two of us had dinner on November 23. We knew that we were in a really good restaurant because of the necessary table reservation and the number of people. We had adequate seating in the bar area. We both ordered the Scoma's Shellfish Sautee Sec. It is a mixture of prawns, scallops, dungeness crab pieces and a small lobster tail... More

A friend and I had dinner here last night. Couldn't get a table, because we were just in the area and didn't call in time, but sat at the bar. We had the shellfish sauté dinner. It is the best example of the dish I have ever eaten. Followed by The best spumoni ever. I think this place has to... More
