Near Fishermans Wharf with waterfront Views, this restaurant had delicious seafood entrees. I enjoyed the service and atmosphere as well. I ate there during lunch and it was fairly busy but I did not have a reservation and was seated right away.

Scomas came highly recommended from a number of sources so we decided to give it a go. My initial feeling was that it doesn't have to try that hard compared to the rest of the competition at Fishermans Wharf, and when I arrived it seemed a bit tired... But the food is actually good, the truffle parmesan chips and chowder... More

Very attentive wait staff and great food. We were there for lunch, which was very good, but a little pricey. They specialize in seafood. Our only disappointment was an under cooked burger.

Tried out this restaurant on the recommendation by a friend....it didn't disappoint us. Plenty of menu choices to suit a wide variety of taste buds Staff are always on hand to top up drinks, check if you need more food or just make sure all is you're happy.

Much more commercialized than the old days. Portions are smaller and more expensive. Service feels like fine dining without being engaging.

We chose this restaurant as our first meal on our 7 day vacation in Noerthern California. Our friends had never been to SAn Francisco before and we wanted to go somewhere with history, atmosphere and great food. Scoma's has it all. The food was wonderful (Cioppino, Crab Louis Salad, and mixed seafood). Our waiter, Kevin, definitely added to the experience.... More

Service was fine, but not equipped to solve the food questions. I had the Classic Crab Louie Salad (~$40). The crab was tasteless. I ate about 1/3 and gave up. Server assured me it was not frozen, but the lack of taste suggested to me it probably canned. Server suggested they may have 'washed' the crab reducing the flavor? My... More

Our "touchstone" restaurant in S.F. They have real pros with 40 years tenure serving you the cioppino that others can only try to emulate. The lobster bisque is killer. And, don't laugh - but, the spumoni is the best ever. They'll let you in wearing super casual attire, but this place is worth dressing-up for - especially for dinner.

Visited on a recommendation from a friend who has immediately moved up several places on the know-your-food list. Fortunately we had time for a stroll along the wharf pre-dinner on a pleasant Sunday evening. Had a knowledgable and passionate waiter originally from France so we conversed in French and English agreeing on the deletavble clam chowder, wine choices and melt... More
