Deliscious food. A lot of local Asians were eating here. We had the Dinner for Two which included one pork wonton each, hot and sour soup, 8 huge garlic shrimp, beef chop suey, sweet and sour pork and white rice. We added an order of calamari.

We were walking around, looking for a place for dinner. Being a Monday, many restaurants are closed. This is a casual neighborhood restaurant. Mom and pop place with a few tables. The food was ok, but I thought it could have been more flavorful. Service good. We had sweet and sour wonton soup, chicken Szechuan-style, chicken with green beans, beef... More

We stopped in for a late lunch. Had to wait a few minutes. They leave you with the menus and some hot tea. The wait staff is very efficient and punctual. They don't stop to chat with the customers and expect you to be ready to order. Cloth napkins and decent wine and beer list. We tried tied the pot... More

This is a very high volume neighborhood Hunan restaurant. with only a few tables, managed by a charming owner that greets customers, serves the food and takes the phone orders. She makes you feel welcome and gives advice on your menu selection. The Lobster and Black Bean sauces are quite good with spicy Hunan shrimp. Noodles are good, but shrimp... More

I had the Shredded Pork and an order of Spring Rolls and the food came out quick, hot, and tasty. When walking in, it was a little unclear if you have to wait to be seated or if you have to seat yourself (it was busy when I arrived at about 3 PM on a Saturday). After standing near the... More

There's something for everyone on the menu. The owners are very sweet. We ate here once a week for over a year and never got tired of the food. Our menu favorites were the whole duck, fried rice w/chicken, salted fish, Braised Tofu, and Crispy Noodles. We in SE Asia now and I still haven't had duck as good as... More

So some people want genuine Chinese food that Americans can't eat, and there's people who want mall food court Chinese, and those who want something in between. I went with a 17 year old anglo son and his mom who aren't adventurous eaters. We were nervous because the place was full of, well, real chinese people, which suggested it would... More

Chose this place based on yelp reviews. You will hear people say not to eat in China Town, but I think they are wrong. Our entrees of Hunan beef and orange chicken had so much flavor and portion sizes were just right. The combination appetizer for four has giant prawns which were tasty. I wish they put hot mustard on... More

We ordered some take out on our last visit to SF. Hot & Sour Soup was more sour than flavorful, shredded pork with garlic sauce was very over cooked, and the honey walnut prawns were very doughy and had little flavor. A big disappointment.

Staying in SoMa

Neighbourhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighbourhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighbourhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
