Walked into this ice looking cafe hoping to have a quick lunch. This place is very expensive for what it is. Croissant sandwich that I chose was on display advertised with tomato and avocado slices. It was served to me without any of these items, as apparent a I should have paid extra 3-4$ to place tomato and avocado on... More

Stopped for coffee, and somehow resisted the food offerings - various pastries, sandwiches, salads (breakfast and lunch fair). Outstanding service, and very good coffee

One of our top places for a breakfast during our five day stay. San Francisco has a lot of great coffee places, and The Station was right up there with some of the other stops we made. This was our teenagers favorite. So good that we tried to go back for a second morning (but they were closed for Thanksgiving).

I went there to grab a quick lunch and was very happy with my choice. The staff is nice, the food is not very expensive and my grilled cheese and bacon sandwich was delicious! Definitely recommended!

I had Prime Rib sandwich (13.95) and Soy Latte (5.25). Pricey but nice food. Clean toilet. Courteous servers. Interesting place as tables had signs about not suing devices with wifi...

Passed by and liked the vibes and design so decided to stop here for brunch. Thought the food was pretty average, did not have flavor that left me wanting to come back again specifically but I will definitely stop back for a cup of coffee and juice. Pricey place but stylish.

Went there for a business lunch. My friend had the bacon and egg panini and it looked great. I had the kale salad, add chicken. Everything was good, but pricey. You go to the counter to order and pay, so there is minimal service. Still a good choice for lunch, if you're not on a budget. The restaurant is clean,... More

This place has wonderful coffee and some of the best hot chocolate I have ever had. They also have great pastries and hot breakfast.

Staying in North Beach / Telegraph Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
North Beach / Telegraph Hill
The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, the sounds of opera, and the sights of the romantic Italian ristorante come together to create the charming neighbourhood of North Beach, once the stomping grounds for the Beatnik Generation. Although parts of North Beach are known for nightlife that’s not always suitable for younger visitors, few neighbourhoods in the city exude as much European charm and style. Peruse a bookstore for the literature of Kerouac, Ferlinghetti and Ginsberg, grab some gelato and head to Washington Square for a perfect afternoon of people watching. Just east of North Beach, the hills and staircases of Telegraph Hill are a unique delight. At its peak, the art deco Coit Tower provides sweeping panoramic views of the bay and city. The beautifully landscaped Filbert Street Steps, a street too steep for a roadway, rewards those willing to hike uphill. Keep your ears open and you might even hear the squawk of the wild parrots who call this neighbourhood home.
