Had dinner at Sabella & LaTorre. Good service by Gian Paolo, our waiter. First we received a loaf of bread and plenty of butter. Then a small bowl of clam chowder. Finally salad and our main course. I had crab cake dinner, (love those crab cakes). We also purchased a bottle of merlot wine which was quite good. Meal was... More

Let me start by saying I have had excellent food here over the past 7 years and I have written great reviews for this restaurant. Recently we went on a Sunday morning there was no crowd and we received poor service and average food. I worry that they've changed recipes or chefs. It literally took 10 minutes just to get... I'm disappointed to hear about your most recent experience -- especially since you've been a fan of ours for quite some time. The delay for even water certainly isn't the norm here. And that's not even mentioning the quality of our food. I do appreciate you bringing this up, so rest assured that I will be following up with my... More

Had Dungeness crab, chowder and a come. Great Food, chowder is very rich, the crab was served with clarified butter. Nice service.

Pasta let this one down. I'd be giving 5 stars if I had the clam chowder and crab like my partner did! We had the clam chowder to start which was lovely. Better than Bar Harbour in Maine! My partner had the half crab (warm not cold) and I had the fettuccini with shrimp. Crab was nice and fresh. The... More

I'm sorry the pasta wasn't exactly what you were looking for, Sean. While I certainly want our guests to have plenty of pasta, I understand it isn't for everyone. Still, I hope that didn't take away from the clam chowder you and your partner really enjoyed. Next time you're around, I'd love to welcome you back for more. All the... More

The sit down area of the eatery is truly simple; it may not be one chooses for romantic dinner. The attraction is the stall outside, good for lunch or quick grub. The sandwiches are surprisingly flavorful, seasoned well, and not drowned in mayo or some saucy concoctions like those neighboring stalls. The crab sandwich is particularly delightful. If that's not... More

I can't tell you how much it means to us to hear how much you enjoyed our food here! It sounds like you ordered well -- the crab sandwich is one of my favorites, and of course, you can't go wrong with the squid salad. That said, I'm bummed that our ambiance knocked us so many points. We're all about... More

The restaurant is in the Fishermans Wharf, so expect it to be very busy day in and day out. Seeing the waiters walking around fast and still carrying a smile was great. The clam chowder was tasty and was the best of all we ordered. The pastas were of big portion. The ingredients were fresh. The taste and presentation were... More

Food was average but prices were also average. Very crowded because the restaurant claims to be one of the original Fisherman's Wharf restaurants. Maitre'd sat us at the toilet, which we're usually okay with but it smelled quite bad. The table did not have any place settings. Service was well below average, even for a crowded restaurant.

While I am glad you enjoyed the food overall, I wish it was the same story for service. I know we can be fairly busy being on the Wharf and all, but you should always expect attentive service from us. Likewise, if your seat truly bothered you, I know we would have looked into moving you somewhere else if you... More

The restaurant itself is unassuming - almost like a classic dinner or small-town restaurant. Basic booths and a bar along one wall. I went in alone on a Wed night about 6PM, and it wasn't too crowded and had a number of locals eating or at the bar. The atmosphere and the meal are more like basic fresh family cooking,... More
