We stopped just for takeout potstickers Christmas Day and noticed the restaurant was busy and with what looked to be more locals than tourists, so made sure we made a trip back for a full dinner. It was worth it! Avoid the long lines and over-priced restaurants on the main strip and try a less-expensive, delicious and traditional Chinatown experience... More

We visited the Capital for a take away one evening on the way home to our hotel. The restaurant itself is pretty nice, typical diner style I would say. A wall decorated in photos of celebrities that have visited which is cool to look at while waiting for your food. The food itself is pretty tasty and at a decent... More

Food is close but found service to be even better. Small restaurant with even smaller kitchen. Amazing how they make do with such a close quartered kitchen. Restrooms are through kitchen and aren't as bad as expected. Restaurant can get crowded, noisy, claustrophobic, and hot. Currently, cash only.

Great, fresh Chinese food. Try the set menu for excellent value! Broccoli beef and sweet & sour chicken were superb.

Nice food for vegetarians and carnivores.. The spring roll is only vegetarian and is ordinary, the won ton noodles soup is big is and nice and the chow is nice.. The only problem was we found out at the end that they only take cash... which is o.k, if you carry it, otherwise - you have to go for a... More

Got here after reading a review of this restuarant on a blog. We went in for a quick lunch and that is what we got! It was very tastefull and well prepared. They serve traditional Chinese food for a reasonable price. If you look for a quick place to eat in chinatown which serves good food, look no further!

Went for lunch as it was a recommended restaurant for Chinatown...Had a spicy beef and rice with a bug inside the rice. Didn't have to pay for the food but lost appetite.

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
As the oldest in North America, San Francisco's Chinatown is an exotic experience. A unique neighbourhood decorated with colourful shops, historic streetlights, hanging lanterns, and pagoda roofs awaits behind the stone-carved dragon gates. Feast on dim sum at the tea houses, or meet the locals who gather at historic Portsmouth Square to play chess or practice Tai Chi. Fish markets, produce stands, tourist shops, jewelry stores, fortune tellers, temples and restaurants come together to create a world unto itself in this historic neighbourhood.
