I've had better at Mortys than the cold sandwich today . For $9.50 I could have had a better sandwich at subway. It was full of old ice burg lettuce. Little meat . Go for the hot sandwiches.

Nothing at first glance prepares you for this gourmet experience. Sure it is a deli, and sure it is simple looking, but there is craftsmanship here you would never expect. Take the Croque Madam variation (they call it a Croque Josephine). Bread pudding and a...More
Got a hankering for a classic Reuben and found Morty's on a best list for this sandwich. It was within 10 blocks of my location so I walked through a seedy and almost scary neighborhood of homeless and street people to get there. The sandwich...More
Morty's is kind of like a sandwich shop on steroids! They make a large variety of sandwiches, to your order. The quality is consistently very good and I often order one to eat, and one for later. Their Rubens and pastrami sandwiches must be tried...More
Good place for lunch as, according to reviews, its busy but when I went in early on a Friday night there was not a single customer. Later one couple came in. The food, when we finally got it, was delicious and reasonably priced. We couldn't...More
I ordered the shroomin sandwich and spinach salad, for delivery to my hotel. Delivery was very late, and he did not bring any forks, plates, or napkins. And the food definitely was not worth the wait.
This is the second time I have eaten there. The food is excellent, the prices good and it's delivered amazingly fast. If you call ahead, it is ready when you get there. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. What really impresses me is...More
Just hop on BART and get off at Civic Center. Then take Hyde to Golden Gate (5 min. walk). The Reuben was mouthwatering delicious. Try it with a cream soda chaser.
Great soups, salads, and deli sandwiches. Yucky neighborhood, but food is fantastic. Fresh ingredients, and clever pairings of flavors. Soups are especiallly yummy. Atmosphere is law students (next to Hastings) and government workers (next to Fed and State buildings).
