Bi-Rite is so good at what they do. Great selection of flavors with excellent quality ingredients. It's super popular for a reason and because of its popularity you should expect a line. The bottom line, it's worth the wait because these folks really know how to do things right.

Totally worth standing in line. The best ice-cream we have ever had. Better than gelato in Italy. Unique flavors, great service, fun atmosphere. Be sure to try the salted caramel flavor.

Bombay chai ice cream - what more could you ask for?! Note that their single is actually a double scoop serving.

The ice cream has unique flavors that all are good. What shocked me were the ice pops! The strawberry was amazing so delicious. Definitely check them both out.

Amazing selections, unusual flavors I would never even think of. Worth your while, in the summer expect to wait awhile, but worth the wait

I can't believe we waited in line for 40 minutes (in the cold and wind no less) for ice cream. It was very good. Not so amazing that we would wait that long again. Salted caramel is supposedly the favorite, but the best one I had was the coffee toffee. Tip: if you can't make up your mind, get the... More

A long line to get ice cream on a chilly Sunday evening--what is going on here? And the place is a hole-in-the-wall with limited seating and zero ambiance... But there is substance to the cult status of this ice cream place. Try their salted caramel and you will see what I mean.

Me and my Wife regard ourself as having extremely high standard when it comes to Ice-cream, and our high expectations from the long life before the ice cream shop were fully met and even exceeded. this is perhaps the finest and tastiest ice cream we had, and we've been around.

The longest, slowest line in the universe is for the little ice cream shop kind of ruined it for me. I've heard the line was long and it's something you have to try but it's so unnecessary. SF is cold and windy even in August and ice cream outside and after you come out the cold freezing is not the... More

Staying in Mission District

Neighbourhood Profile
Mission District
From burritos to bicyclists, the Mission is the foundation for all things hip in the city. Cultural attractions, an independent arts community, sumptuous street murals and a high density of bars and cafes make this neighbourhood a magnet for young people. While terrific inexpensive food is abundant, its top-of-the-line restaurants now compete with the city’s best for fashionable diners. Indulge as the locals do by heading to Mission Dolores Park, buy some ice cream, and savor one of the most diverse neighbourhoods in the country.
