You want to feel like your in a true San Francisco North Beach Italian Deli? One that's been around for more than 100 years? I mean like the kind you have only dreamed about? Their salami (P.G. Molinari and Sons), sold nation wide won the gold metal award in Italy. This is still operating as a Family Business! Don't take... More

This is a classic Italian deli with the best meats, cheeses and breads in SF! Love the Reno special and stuffed peppers

Mortadella. To get anything as good requires an eleven hour airplane ride and nine time zones and customs.

Friendly staff, lines can be long, but there's a lot to look at (and buy?). Grab a number, grab your bread and wait your turn. Plenty of fillings, it'll last two meals. The Renzo, the Luciano, Italian combo, all good, good, good.

I remember going into Molinari's with my Nonna when I was very young. The smell from the salamis, cheeses and porcini mushrooms fills the air and takes me right back to 50 years ago. It's still the best Italian Delicatessen in San Francisco.

I spent many years tromping up the street to get my weekly fix of their mortadella on a french roll. Crammed with great Italian delicacies, wine and a killer deli. Check it out.

Delicious sandwiches for lunch. Split the South beach turkey and eggplant parm between 3 people. You pick out your roll first, then bring it to the counter. Don't forget to take a number when you walk in- there's a line.

Had read that if in the neighbourhood this was a must stop for lunch. If you love your cured meat sandwiches then this is the place to go. Grab a ticket when you enter, grab your bread then just hope the line isn't o long. Even if it is it's worth the wait! Came back the following day - loved... More

Boyfriend and I shared a meatball sandwich from here the other day. It was really delicious, so simple yet so much flavor. And the bread was really fresh! I want more..

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown
As the oldest in North America, San Francisco's Chinatown is an exotic experience. A unique neighbourhood decorated with colourful shops, historic streetlights, hanging lanterns, and pagoda roofs awaits behind the stone-carved dragon gates. Feast on dim sum at the tea houses, or meet the locals who gather at historic Portsmouth Square to play chess or practice Tai Chi. Fish markets, produce stands, tourist shops, jewelry stores, fortune tellers, temples and restaurants come together to create a world unto itself in this historic neighbourhood.
