THe beginning of the AVL 'foodie' experience begins with Hector and Salsa's. It's unique Latin-Caribbean vibe and wonderful food choices are the AVL version of 'comfort food'. Enjoy the Molcajete's, but come with an appetite. Eclectic blends of tastes are sure to tantalize your palate!

Stopped in to grab a quick bite and got a great surprise in some of the best Mexican Caribbean food! The salsas are out of this world! Make this a stop when visiting Asheville! Friendly Staff is a big plus also!

I'm a bit of a foodie and my friend is a food chemist, vegetarian, and a very picky eater. They combine some wonderful tastes, and we both loved our dishes. For example, I was amazed at a slice of plantain with guacamole on it - wow - and that was a little treat to the side of the dish. The... More

Went based on TA reviews and it was great. Parking is hard to find and the line was out the door. But once seated drinks and food came quickly. High turnover and moderately high prices, this place has a good business model. Food was great, as was the service. We were only driving through or else I would come again... More

It was January 29th, temperature in the mid-30s, and on my son's recommendation we were waiting at the door of Salsa for them to open at 5:00pm. It was warm & toasty inside and the aroma of good-smelling food filled the air. We were seated by our very pleasant & attractive waitress, Rebecca, who answered all of our questions regarding... We were seated almost immediately after open. Our waitress was fantastic. Very attentive. We ordered the steak and shrimp empanadas.. wow! The flavor was amazing! Would def be... More

We normally come to Asheville for a weekend getaway. Naturally, we're selective about where we eat when having just 2-3 meals during our stay. There're so many great places in Asheville, but we always eat at Salsa. Over the years, we've tried many dishes (sadly the large soups bowls are no longer on thee menu). The flavors are amazing. Do taste... More

I've eaten alot of Mexican food in my life, but this was so different and delicious I can't wait to go back. The chef turned a "plain quesadilla" into a masterpiece. Lots of veggies, meat and FLAVOR! I only gave it 4 stars because the restaurant is very small and seating is tighter than I'm really comfortable with and the... More
