We stopped here for lunch as it was close to our hotel. We both had sandwiches (the Paul Revere and a turkey breast sandwich). Good food and nice pub.

Nice place to come on your own and have an easy beer. I found a barstool quickly without a lot of chatter and watched the Bruins game with a couple of guys quietly sitting beside me having beers. Chicken tenders were solid, comfort food and service was quick and nicely not over the top. Great for what it is- a... More

Great music, atmosphere and food. The local beer Sam Adams (red) is great! Located in the heart of the city, easy to find. A must in Boston!

We went in here with friends who live in Boston and we had a great night . The staff were friendly and welcoming . There are pool tables in the back part of the bar . There was a real mix of tourists and locals and there was a decent atmosphere . The place is a bit dark but not... More

Got in just before the crowd arrived, about 4pm on Friday, holiday weekend. Got a sweet corner table, perfect for people watching. We had a few beers & appetizers. Bruchetta wasn't anything special, the wings were fairly good, large. Wish we could of stayed longer but I could tell it gets really busy and I bet extremely fun!

Okay, I did have a Samuel Adams Boston Lager and toasted to Samuel Adams who is buried directly across the street (see pic). This was not my idea. I read it on the internet so thank you to whoever came up with the idea. The Beantown Pub is unabashedly Bostonian, so if you're there, and there are football games on,... More

THE Samuel Adams is buried across the street from this pub. So you can literally drink a cold Sam Adams beer while sitting across the street from where Sam Adams is. I had a beantown burger which was fantastic. The fries were good as well. I would definitely visit this pub again.

We sat at the bar to eat. Our bartender was with us like white on chowder! They recommended a perfect beer for the season. They offered Sam Adam's beer in addition. So, our cuties behind the bar were always available, and spoke with a most authentic Bostonian accent making for a full bodied Bostonian experience. The chowder was INCREDIBLE and... More

Had a group of friends I was with and were referred to this place to hang out in the evening. What a great vibe. A bit of a younger crowd with loud music. but we had a blast. Great local beers with excellent service. I would stop back definitely and highly recommend for a pub atmosphere.

We visited Ziggi's Cafe/Beantown Pub for a break after a tour. What a find! Not only were the pancakes delicious and the waitress most pleasant and very helpful but the cost was reasonable. To top it off we were able to enjoy the singing and guitar playing of an Irish lad.

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
