This is a difficult review to write, as we really, really wanted to like Menton. We also, however, had high expectations--expectations that were not met, especially given the price point at which Menton operates. As noted below, the food was subpar and, for many courses, left much to be desired. The service was equally spotty. Amongst our party, the dining... More

Took my girlfriend here for my birthday. I told them in advance and they printed special menus which was a nice touch. I went with the set course with wine pairing and each course was very good and the wine pairing was very good. For the courses seems I got some things different than my girlfriend so I'm not sure... Truly, you need James Joyce to describe the beauty, depth, and joy of this restaurant. Each course--really, each one!--was fresh and surprising and richly delicious. The mysterious warm spices in the crab, the dusting of pollen on the salmon (not joking), the multiple approaches to the foie gras: all of these subtleties made even familiar ingredients inviting, fresh, and hearty.... Very impressive This was one of the most impressive places I have been to in Boston. We went there to celebrate our 2nd wedding anniversary. My husband called to make reservations and let them know the occasion when asked. We walked in and everyone at the reception congratulated us on our anniversary. Then they seated us and the menus had... More

Beautifully prepared, fresh food, excellent faultless service. We had a reservation, and although it was a Thursday lunchtime, we were still surprised to find only one other couple dining in the restaurant upon arrival. It did get busier around 1pm, but there were still many available tables. LOVE LOVE LOVE that we were greeted with complimentary champagne. The bread basket... More

We loved Menton! No, this is not a restaurant for everyone, nor is it a restaurant if you're on a budget. But if you want a memorable meal, served with gracious and attentive service, with no detail lacking, then go. We each selected the 8 course tasting menu (without the wine pairing) and it was spectacular. Although we both had... More

We had what could be described as a perfect meal. The tasting menus (we each had a different one so we could sample one another's) were amazing. (is it truly a complaint that it was a lot of food! :-) ) The service was nothing short of terrific. The entire team was attentive and helpful without being our 'best friend'.... More

We went for dinner during a weekend trip in Boston. When a restaurant is charging $20 for a GLASS of wine, i say get real.

Met a colleague for a relaxed dinner. We both travel a lot and eat at a lot of very nice restaurants. Menton had been hyped by friends. Gave it a try. Service was... brusque. Pushy, insistent, and not particularly helpful. And the food was... ehhh. Not the tasty masterpieces that we had expected. It is probably best to try to... More

I took a friend there for lunch since she works in the Seaport district and didn't have a huge amount of time available. When confirming the reservation, I clearly mentioned it was her birthday, and spelled out her name. We didn't have too much time, so skipped the starter and went right for the entree. She had branzino and I... More

Description
Menton, Chef Barbara Lynch's Fort Point fine dining restaurant, is the final concept to complete her Fort Point trifecta and joins neighbors Sportello and Drink. Located in FP3, the AIA award-winning luxury condominium complex, Menton radiates an understated elegance and offers several beautiful spaces to dine including the 60-seat dining room, a 12-seat Chef's Table, and the 45-seat private dining room. The restaurant, a glamorous expression of fine dining, was designed by Cheryl and Jeffrey Katz of C&J Katz and features a subtle palette of grays with touches of silver and black. The cuisine of Menton displays the talent for precision and visual artistry across two seasonal tasting menus and a la carte selections for dinner daily, and a more casual a la carte menu for lunch Monday - Friday.

Staying in Seaport District / South Boston Waterfront

Neighbourhood Profile
Seaport District / South Boston Waterfront
This area has been expanding and becoming more and more popular, for good reason. Not surprisingly, the seaport district of South Boston is located beautifully along the water. The area is designed for easy strolling along the HarborWalk, and there are bars and restaurants for all ages and budgets. The Institute of Contemporary Art is located in this area in a contemporary building with an absolutely stunning deck overlooking the water. In the summer time there are Friday music concerts on the deck of the museum. Nearby, there are many green spaces to enjoy.
