Small cafe overlooking Boston common serving a good selection of breakfast goods and coffee. Extremely busy and hard to get a table, with an odd queuing system. But overall good coffee (especially appreciated the option of pour over coffee) and great English muffins.

Went on a Sunday morning after reviewing all the great recommendations. I was specifically looking for breakfast and a good coffee. It's in a desirable location across from Boston Common. Not very large inside. Similar atmosphere to a Starbucks. In fact it reminded me of a Starbucks with a slightly bigger menu. I just got a black coffee. And honestly,... More

I love cafes and this may be the best one in Boston. They take their coffee very seriously - Thinking Cup baristas are known in national latte art competitions. But this cafe is also quaint, cute, warm, and right on the Boston Common. It has great pastries. The only downside is that you need to be aggressive to find a... More

Fine Breakfast. If this will be your first time, I recommend to familiarize with the menu BEFORE get there. No waiter service. You have to make the line, choose and pay all before breakfast.

We ate here multiple times during our trip. Very good food, reasonable prices, and quick. It can get crowded, but we also ordered to go at least once. The coffee and desserts are especially good.

Stopped in for lunch today at around 2pm. The coffee was superb. I ordered a small mocha and it was wonderfully smooth, not sweet (I hate when mocha is too sweet, I like my dark chocolate!), and creamy foam was poured on top with lovely latte art. The sandwich I ordered was just okay, it was pressed and warm but... More

I came here to work, but was disappointing there was no wifi. Coffee was good and prices were fair. Good place to people watch since I couldn't work.

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
