We stopped in as it was close to our hotel and we were looking for some good steaks. We were not disappointed! Each steak was cooked to perfection. The service was phenomenal as were the beverages from the bar.

What a day to sit outdoors and experience the wonderful drinks and food here at Smith and Wollensky. Our waitress Claudia was wonderful, knowledgeable and very pleasant to talk with. Our food was fantastic and drinks spectacular! Seated outside on such a pleasant day, even better.

Great service. Staff so friendly. Steaks were of course up to their high standards. Just a personal preference. May not necessarily be the reader's preference....We prefer the "buttered" up steaks of Ruth Chris. We also prefer the lobster mac and cheese of Capital Grill. But I would certainly go dine there again when in Boston. And the Saturday parking fee... More

Carlo, Always nice to hear about our friendly staff and great steaks; Prime Double R Ranch beef is the best! We hope that we are unique with many of our offerings and seeing your preferences, hope that we had some alternatives. And you are right; that parking deal can't be beat! Thank you for taking the time, Sincerely, Peter Baker,... More

My husband and I went to Smith and Wollensky for our date night in the city. We went early enough where it wasn't too busy yet, which was nice as we was looking for some quiet time too. The place was clean, sparkling and spacious rooms were nicely lit. The extensive wine list was great, although I only went with... More

We walked in for a late night bite after getting terrible service at a restaurant (NEBO) around the corner where we walked out. At S&W, we decided to sit in the bar and were greeted promptly. We ordered several appetizers and beverages. Everything was excellent....,especially the crab cakes, bread and margaritas. The margaritas were the best I've ever had in... More

I'll start with the positive : the food was delicious, the wine list extensive, the service great, the place spotlessly clean. Now that would justify a 5 star review most anywhere, but when one is spending over 100usd per guest, one expects nothing less than perfection. My first observation is about the atmosphere. Granted, we visited on a Thursday night,... More

I wanted to thank you for your comments to your experience here at Smith and Wollensky Atlantic Wharf. I am glad we delivered on many points; the service, food and wine and cleanliness go without saying. I extend my apologies to the exuberance of the bar and the music that didn’t fit with our ambiance. I will make sure within... More

Had lunch on a very slow Saturday afternoon. My oysters had many broken shells in it. Made for an unpleasant appetizer. Manager didn't even bother to approach the table. The french fries were soggy and the burger bites were slightly over cooked. Maybe the lunches are not as important to the Smith & Wollensky group as the dinners are.

Jonathan T, I am very sorry about your experience here on Saturday; certainly not what we are all about. We have but the one time to make that lasting impression and my apologies that we came up short of that mark. Had dinner on New Year's Eve and, as always, they live up to the perfection you expect from S&W. While we usually go to the one in the South End, we thought this might be a nice change. It obviously has more of a corporate feel to it than the historic South end location, but it still a beautiful room.... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
