A recent re-model has added some style & comfort to a long-time favorite spot. A very, very popular spot with the South End dinners & drinkers. Can get pretty crowded & noisy but there are some "quite" spots if you ask nicely.

We enjoyed a late night dinner at the newly renovated Aquitaine! The bar was welcoming and attractive. The booths were cozy and gave you a feeling of privacy. Eric our server was amazing. Easy to chat with and he knew the menu. We enjoyed a couple of drinks and then enjiyed the duck L'orange and pork chop. Both were delicious.... More

The restaurant was a short walk from our hotel and we decided to try it for Saturday brunch after walking by it the day before. It is beautifully decorated and the service was friendly. Enjoyed the crepes with apples and raisins and there is a wide selection of omelettes on the menu.

Renovation respects the building's age. Interior isn't copycat. Not too sleek; believable. Great leather banquet seating. White tablecloths. Gilded mirrors. Copper pots. Black and white tile floor. Cool bathrooms with large marble sinks and brass fixtures. Fun and conscientious server. Delicious onion soup. Wonderful chocolate mousse. Worth a second visit.

We went here on a visit to Boston. Chose it based on reviews and that we could walk from where we were staying. Service was wonderful. My husband ordered a roasted pork dish that he said was delicious, very tender. I ordered the night's special which was veal breast. When it came out I couldn't cut it. I mentioned it... More

I loved everything about this gem! It's in a great neighborhood and once you walk through the doors you are WOWed by the elegance of the place! Our server was very professional and polite! I tried the Saint C cocktail with gin, rosemary, grapefruit, and lemon bitters and it was amazing! For dinner, I started with the endive salad with... More

Great little french restaurant located around south Boston. We had the filet mignon and the steak, and both were absolutely to die for! Great sauces and marinades for the steaks. We also shared the french onion soup which may have been the best we've ever had, and we make it and order it often! It was quite expensive but worth... More

Was great going here after the update to the restaurant. Was perfectly redone and the menu changed. Nice new location of the bar, seating was updated and the space felt roomier. Food still good

Staying in South End

Neighbourhood Profile
South End
Stroll down the beautiful brownstone lined streets while capturing views of Boston’s tallest buildings from a distance. Some of Boston’s best restaurants are scattered around this neighborhood. There are many gems to be found, from jazz clubs to classy bars and restaurants. It is also home to art galleries, interesting boutiques, artsy stores and SOWA open market during the summer months. The South End is a true find in the city, with a more residential feeling than Back Bay.
