when I walked into Il Panino I was very surprised at how relaxed the atmosphere was. There are several rooms available for dinning. We were seated in what I believe is the summer outdoor area. During the winter it is a warm and cozy place to be seated. The food was great and the staff were very friendly and helpful.... More

Food was very good and came out in a reasonable amount of time. I ordered the mushroom ravioli and my fiancé ordered the veal chop. The ravioli were average but the veal chop cutlet was outstanding. Cooked very similarly to how we had veal on the Amalfi Coast. It would receive a higher rating if the waitress/owner was not so... More

Traditional Italian cuisine well prepared with laid back atmosphere. We stopped in for lunch in a whim and have added this restaurant to our list of places to return to.

This place was so amazing. We sat next to some folks who happened to be locals and they said it was one of the best places to eat in town. The portion sizes are huge so you may think about sharing, which also will cut down on the cost. My sister in law and I shared calamari and the cabanara... More

I've now been to Trattoria Il Panino a couple of times, but was gifted a gift certificate for our wedding - so I'm excited to go back as well. Each time I'm so impressed with the freshness of everything presented, the pasta especially, just purely delicious. We started this time with stuffed zucchini flowers. Our teens were weary, but were... More

Boston's North End has dozens of wonderful little Italian restaurants, but this place is extraordinary. We went early or we wouldn't have gotten a table but it was a small price to pay for such a delicious meal. My wife and daughters had the zucchini flower starter and raved. My son-in-law and I had the shrimp in limoncello sauce and... More

Don't know Boston at all except that the north end has great Italian food. Same 10 restaurants reviewed over and over. Then luckily found this one. Fantastic food featuring homemade pasta of course. We had it with lobster and scallops. Outstanding! Cozy with great service

Excellent food. We had the lobster ravioli and seafood pasta - delicious. Try the mozzarela caprese - the cheese was great. Topped it off with a canoli for dessert. Wonderful food.

After living in the North End for a little over a year, I've tried many Chicken Parmigiana's in the area. After recently getting take-out for the first time from here (yes, take-out), my partner and I agreed this was the best we've ever had. The pasta was homemade and the portions was huge. The sauce was also made to perfection.... More

Staying in North End

Neighbourhood Profile
North End
Wandering around Boston’s North End can feel like being transported to Europe. Stroll down Hanover and Salem streets for the finest Italian restaurants, bakeries, cafes, and a few boutique shops. Take part in the big debate as to whether Modern Pastry or Mike’s serves a better cannoli. Before your food coma sets in, make sure to stop by historic Paul Revere’s home, and follow the Freedom Trail to Old North Church and Copp’s Hill Burying Ground. Take a rest in a cafe on Hanover street and observe the quirky, European character of the North End.
