Difficult reservation to secure but well worth the effort. Date and I both had fantastic meals, surprisingly moderately priced. The host and hostess adhere to timely reservations so no need to arrive early. Waiting area is cramped and we were not offered to wait in the lounge or bar, if there is one. Seated upstairs with street view that was... More

Excellent food; we were upstairs; tables are close together but that's typical of the North End. Everyone (8) enjoyed each dish

Mama Maria was recommended to us by a someone staying at the same hotel so off we went for what turned out to be an excellent dinner in every way. It is tucked away on a little square in an old brownstone....our table overlooked the little courtyard. Service was very good and knowledgeable. My lobster agnollotti was superb as was... More

Don't know where the bad reviews for surly waiters, small portions, bland food are coming from. Appetizers were excellent my son actually liked his duck appetizer better than the rabbit pasta but also enjoyed the rabbit. I went vegetarian and had beet salad which I loved and squash tortelloni which I loved My husband had mozzarella and osso bucco which... More

Mamma Maria is off the beaten path in the North End, which makes it even more special. Tucked inside a historic brownstone, the restaurant is high end Italian at its finest. It is a quiet place for a wonderful evening of food. EVERYTHING was phenomenal...the salumi appetizer, scallops, bolognese pasta, and especially the cornish game hen. Finally, Dorina was an... More

Loved this place! A friend of mine found this restaurant on Tripadvisor, so we decided to try it out on our trip. We were not disappointed! The food was full of flavour and it had perfect portion sizes. We tried two different wines, a red and a white, and both were fantastic! Take note, this is a higher end Italian... More

Found this place using trip advisor. It was an excellent experience. The waitress was very friendly. She recommended a few things to try, One was the warm tomatoes and mozzarella. It was fantastic. The food came out in perfect proportions. They have a large list of wines as well. I picked a random red wine and it was delicious, I... More

Staying in North End

Neighbourhood Profile
North End
Wandering around Boston’s North End can feel like being transported to Europe. Stroll down Hanover and Salem streets for the finest Italian restaurants, bakeries, cafes, and a few boutique shops. Take part in the big debate as to whether Modern Pastry or Mike’s serves a better cannoli. Before your food coma sets in, make sure to stop by historic Paul Revere’s home, and follow the Freedom Trail to Old North Church and Copp’s Hill Burying Ground. Take a rest in a cafe on Hanover street and observe the quirky, European character of the North End.
