While in Boston we visited the North End three or four times. It is such an interesting area. The food the bakeries are just great. We noticed a line at Giacomo's so we decided to try it before our stay came to an end. We arrived at Giacomo's at a good time, we only waited for 15 minutes. The dining... More

So every time I go to Boston (almost) I go to Giacomo's because its just such a good value. Its inexpensive and wine prices are fabulous. Not an extensive offering but a few good choices that are great, good-value drinkable dinner wines--not high end. Can you get better italian food elsewhere? sure I'm sure you can but you will spend... More

The restaurant is very small, hence there is usually a line! Plan an off time or get there early! Best fried mozzarella I've ever had!!! Chicken parm. also good. Squash ravioli good, different, a little sweet for my taste.

This place is extremely popular and even late at night we had to wait in line to get in. The calamari was good, my veal marsala was decent. I liked the garlic cream sauce on ziti although that opinion wasn't generally shared. The ala diabla was probably the best. Wine was ok. No dessert. They shut off the music to... More

Yes, it's small. Yes, it's loud. And, yes, the food is GREAT!! We had a special shrimp and lobster dish with Giacomo sauce. The lobster flavor infused into the sauce just makes it!

I visited Giacomo's on a saturday night around 6 pm before it was too busy. We waited for about an hour which wasn't awful. Once we were seated we were greeted by a sassy waitress who was worth the trip alone. We bought a bottle of wine, which for 18$ was a STEAL in a restaurant. It was quite delicious.... More

Upon arrival there a wait for 45minutes! The line moved quick. Restaurant is small and intimate. Waitress was very friendly. The menu is located on the walls for all to see. Waitress explained everything. Food came out in a reasonable time. Presentation was great & even better was the great tasting pasta dish. DELICIOUS!!!

I have been to Italy, and I can still say their food was better. A very homie feel to the restaurant. There is always a line outside their restaurant (always a good sign), but it is totally worth it. Being Boston, they had some very fresh sea food. I would recommend getting garlic bread with any of their pasta. The... More

Get the homemade fusilli pasta with lobster fra diavolo sauce. The line is often long outside, the service can be brusque, but every bite is divine and I will keep coming back. This is a no-brainer.

North End
Wandering around Boston’s North End can feel like being transported to Europe. Stroll down Hanover and Salem streets for the finest Italian restaurants, bakeries, cafes, and a few boutique shops. Take part in the big debate as to whether Modern Pastry or Mike’s serves a better cannoli. Before your food coma sets in, make sure to stop by historic Paul Revere’s home, and follow the Freedom Trail to Old North Church and Copp’s Hill Burying Ground. Take a rest in a cafe on Hanover street and observe the quirky, European character of the North End.
