We had a lovely dinner here on a Tuesday night. Our server was friendly and was respectful of the fact that we were catching up and not in any hurry, She was great in suggesting appetizer to share as we were chatting and the burrata with tomato and pesto was terrific. I had the veal bracciole and my friend had... More

Went there after a concert at the Garden. Never been here before. Stumbled across it only because it was one of the few places open late night. Had a feeling it would be good when the greeter at the door, who seemed to be the manager/owner was a portly gent! What a gem! The fried calamari is to die for!... More

Well, let me 1st address any review that isn't complimentary, those fokks are either wrong or so picky they wouldn't be happy at the table with Jesus. Not only is the staff amazing from moment number 1, but the food surpassed all expectations. I even had a 7yr old who is VERY picky, they made her a chicken cutlet that... More

A friend and I were recommended to try this restaurant while in Boston yesterday. We decided to begin with the soup of the day - chicken soup with egg and spinach. It was terrible - absolutely no chicken flavor and it tasted like hot water with spinach floating around. Obviously we sent it back. My entree was Puttanesca pasta....i was... More

Went in on a recommendation for a late lunch- sent 2 things back to the kitchen... was very surprised at the blandness of the food, as if the ingredients came from a bargain warehouse. Our server was nice but some other waiter came out making up excuses... whatever they took it off the bill but you know they hated us... More

Walked in around 6:15 on a Saturday night and were surprisingly seated immediately. The wait staff was very knowledgeable and efficient. The meals came out quickly and all were excellent. Pricing was reasonable and they had a decent wine list. Although there was a backlog when we left, there was never any pressure on us to get out.

Just stopped in on a cold and misty-rain evening for a drink. Cozy and welcoming little spot down a little side street in the north end among the Italian restaurants. Wendy was waiting bar and she made us the best dirty martini and vodka mule my wife and I have ever had. Some local guys at the other end of... More

Went with a party of 9. The staff was friendly, service was good and overall the food was good. The Calamari & Mussels appetizers were good, Had the Gnocchi Al Forno, Melanzane Parm, Ravioli, Bolognese, etc. No complaints about anything with the exception of the Linguini and Clam sauce, it wasn't bad but other nearby restaurants are better for this... The dinner of veal parmigiana with side pasta coupled with a lovely chianti was very tasty in the Little Italy section of Boston. My wife enjoyed a lasagna that was also very well done, but disappointed that the short rib ravioli listed on the menu was unavailable. No complaints from our friend who found her fussili with sausage and broccoli... More

Artu is located on Prince Street and they have a sister location in Beacon Hill. Both offer similar menus - their appetizer of vegetable platter is yummy along with meatballs, pasta, and other dishes. Waitstaff is friendly and attentive.

Staying in North End

Neighbourhood Profile
North End
Wandering around Boston’s North End can feel like being transported to Europe. Stroll down Hanover and Salem streets for the finest Italian restaurants, bakeries, cafes, and a few boutique shops. Take part in the big debate as to whether Modern Pastry or Mike’s serves a better cannoli. Before your food coma sets in, make sure to stop by historic Paul Revere’s home, and follow the Freedom Trail to Old North Church and Copp’s Hill Burying Ground. Take a rest in a cafe on Hanover street and observe the quirky, European character of the North End.
